Just done the level 8 boss. Turns out I needed to attack him when in mech form, not tank/driller form. Once I figured this out I exposed the bosses weakpoint and inflicted massive damage, naturally.
Level 9 looks nice, lots of lava exploding all over the place, makes a change from the snow!

This happened to me,played up to mission 8 then I upped the display from (forgive me if these are not quite right)1028x720 to 1028x1028.Then it kept crashing half way in to the mission.

After a few days put it back to 720 now works fine again.Not saying thats the answer to your problem,but this is what happened to me.

Unfortunately I'm using component, but ill have a fiddle with the res to see if it is related (im running at 720p atm).

Now, it, within around 5 minutes of playing LEVEL 3, crashes my 360. Seems to be unrelated to what I thought before. This was booted from cold, and it crashes within 5 minutes. I can hapily launch lost planet, play online, but as soon as I try and resume level 3 - no joy ft:

I know you might not want to here this but is it worth starting again (maybe on easy) and seeing if you can get past it with a new game.

Anyway...

Sorry for not jumping into more MP yesterday but I was polishing off the single player.

EXTREME mode complete!

After the level 7 boss it's definitely more easy going (Altho the beginning of level 9 had me for a bit).

I think this may be my most prized achievement so far, I'm well chuffed to have done this - I'd advise anyone to give it a go.
If you stick with it you can learn and complete it for sure, and there is nothing more satisfying than nailing a hard assed boss after a monumental struggle!!

Yeah they are all in different places on each difficultly, but I thought he was playing it on easy?

I've only just finished Mission 3 (which took me 84 minutes lol as I kept getting eaten by the worms) and am loving this game. Fantastic action and I feel it'll be one of the few games which I will play over and over like Resi 4.

I haven't even looked at what the achievments are so that at least on my first play through I will just enjoy the game as it should be played, without the searching and what not to boost my gamerscore.

No doubt somebody has, I'll get there eventually - its harsh when you get to a letter and realise you've missed one somewhere and can't for the life of you find the bastard thing. Probably need a fax for Extreme, or do loads of hunting runs. God what a horrible challenge this is >_< Loved getting the ones I have so far, even though my girlfriend thinks I've reached a whole new level of sad - I'ts a stamp collecting, trainspotting level apprently...

It's important to remember though spag, they don't actually always appear IN ORDER. For example, if it's EARTH they may well actually appear throughout the level out of order, ie E A T H R. I know for a fact that happens on easy at a few different levels, I believe that THUNDER for starters.

I've got every single one on easy mode, some were damn near impossible to see to be honest. No way I'd put myself through that again.

Made a start on Extreme last-night and got to the first boss - who proceeded to trample me into a mass pulp. ****ing hell, it's ridiculous.

But a decent challenge, I'm assuming the best course for this battle is to get rid of the four minor subordinates first, before concentrating maximum firepower on the big bastard?

Yep, that's the method I used. 3 well placed grenades toward the 2 to the right when you begin should take them both out...After that you're on your own.

There's a vid earlier in this thread from Emir (I think...) showing good techniques for tackling this boss - Definitely worth checking out I reckon.

Blimey, just got to the mission Seven boss last night (on normal) and I'm having difficulty! Plus i was a bit annoyed that on my first attempt it froze up, didn't remember any of the checkpoints and i had to start from the very beginning

I think my problem is i'm not accurate enough to shoot done those laser drones as quickly as i would like...

Sacrifice some manliness and enable auto aim.

Change your control scheme to fixed 6 if you haven't done so already, this fixes the reticle at the centre of the screen and should make aiming a bit easier, especially if you're accustomed to something along the lines of Gears of War.
