I'm now 7 hours on mission7 boss with no signs of getting any better, apart from just once when I got him to about 10% and then got killed by a droid whilst going for the mech rockets. Gone through about 3 different strategies but they all go to wank at 30%. This is by far the hardest ****er I've ever had to kill in a game. Make sure you have your camera set up for when you beat him 1st time Emir as you're certainly never going to want to repeat him. It pisses me off how perfect shots to his face sometimes take a great big chunk off or nothing at all, his rear end is usually bulletproof 90% of the time too.

It also pisses me off how you can just stand there like a cock with a mech gun killing him down to 50%. That first 50% is mindlessly piss and then it all goes mental with his little homos upgrading to rockets.

I've even tried the bullfighting technique using the center posts as hookshot targets after his charge keeping my distance with rockets although his little gay friends always have to ruin something before you even have time to change back to the machine gun to sort them out.

Spags, it's easy blowing stuff up in a mech before they take the mech away from you. The ultimate piss take will be if any of the follow-up bosses are mechless as they all feature totally unavoidable nukes unless you can strafe-skate fast enough in a mech. If they DO feature mechs they should all be about as easy as the 3rd mission boss.

Not many people will end up with this extreme mode achievement. It's ****ing harsh. Any way of finding out exactly how many people have it? I can't wait until I have it and I can be rid of 1-player for good. This one boss is even harder than all F-Zero GX story-mode missions on hard put together (probably not, those took me about 40hrs combined and I'm still missing one).

I've taken a rest from him for a while. Gone back to rinse the earlier stages one more time, before coming at him with a fresh can of whoop ass! I'll defo be rolling the camera every time I fight him though.

Ta! (^_^) Sorry 'bout skipping one for peeps who wanna get the Mission 3 Boss meth down, but I HAD to show you Boss #4 (the easy way).

I can't believe how long I spent on him originally. He's a piece of piss now.

The mission3 boss is well piss. The easiest of the lot by far. If there is a methi I suggest bypassing it totally and going for dual rocket spam ftw.

Not that you need telling of course mate.

That's it though - There's got to be an easy way of killing this ****ing thing. I've even gone as far as trying to grapple-hook his little pointy nut-sack just to check. Grenades do sweet FA also.

I might start the mission again for some plasma grenades and an energy weapon. What a ball-ache. At least I'm now a surgeon with the rocket launcher.

Nice one for the heads up on the mission 4 boss, Emir.

So what should I be doing to kill the mission 3 boss? Chuck grenades in his gob, or shoot those yellow bits? He keeps f**king turning round so I canny shoot them.

You're on about the Worm. Just shoot the things on his side.
By the way he's not the boss either, so try not to get too bashed up taking him down.

Thanks to Dave and everyone for the tips on that final boss. I dunno, I found him to be the hardest of the lot.

Love the game but don't think I'm gonna go back to it. Lost the love for MP, I have a hard time telling who's who. Shame, did great at 1st got to level 11 on my first game. Achievement points are not incentive enough for me to be playing this again though

Just been back to level 4 and 5 trying out Emir's Wasp meth and getting the Moth Hunter achievement (what a piece of piss that one is compared to the funky worm). Loved taking off the wasps wing and then pumping rockets into it as it lay with its feet in the air, he manged to get back up and started his ram attack with like 5% health left on him - rocket right into him as he zoomed towards me and he outta here. What a bastard.

Got to say that since I crossed the plains for the second time (and what an amazing amount of kickoffs&lightshows that section is) I've not really been feeling it. The new

are Ok but everything seems to have been scaled up for Mech battles which just sees you blasting the crap out of anything that moves. Maybe I'm missing the grapplehook. Maybe I should ignore the Mechs and just go through as much as possible on foot? The first spidertank encouter was a joke, so easy - but the larger one looks like he may be my next challenge as I've yet to see its weakspot...please tell me its not a case of just blasting it with a mech.

Just finished this on normal and already it's a strong contender for GOTY. Outstanding stuff, total Capcom brilliance.

Shame it was so short, but that seems to be the way with next-gen development.

Good game, spoilt by a totally crap script, and again I find myself frustrated with Capcom-game-bosses. The screen filling up with explosions to the extent you can't see yourself until you're dead - which can be about a single shot on some bosses - is frustrating. I always get the impression Capcom make games for their fans and don't look beyond them to the more "general gamer".

Seeing so much potential in their games spoilt by the boss battles is par for the course with Capcom. Out of my "casual gamer" mates, about 8 bought Dead Rising. Only one completed it, the rest sold it within a week. I can see this being the same. It's not as divisive as DR and the graphics will keep people playing, but I can't help see so much potential in [pretty much] every Capcom game spoilt by the boss difficulty.

I think Capcom probably should be a bit more honest about their difficulty settings. Change 'normal' into 'casual' and open up a 'hardcore' or 'experienced' mode from the start. Then we can decide if we want a challenge or not, and everyone is happy.

Then open up 'insane' or 'master' modes once the game is complete.

Wouldn't that just be pandering to the difficulty elitists?

                                How so?

I'm just suggesting making the default normal mode into 'casual'. That way those people who like a straightforward game they can play through without too much trouble can select that and enjoy themselves. Those who want to be tested can choose 'hardcore' and know what they will be getting.

With Lost Planet most people will select 'normal', but the truth is normal is actually too difficult for casual players.
