Are you absolutely sure it was mission 7? I just smoked that tank on my 3rd attempt... solely on foot.Last edited by Combination; 23-01-2007, 16:24.

Originally posted by Emir View PostDid you get any vids of Mission 7 pwnage? I'd love to see that.
It just took me a further 12 attempts to get it down on camera. Will be uploading it tomorrow, as well as a perfect un-cut mission7 run, after capturing both from the tape... although it's a beast at 10mins with the mission being about 15mins. That's the last I want to see of that thing now for good.
Honestly, IMO, the hardest boss ever. He can screw you over right at the end whenever he feels like it, I scraped through finely on this run.
Briareos: Plasma Rifle (energy sniper) is blue, Energy Gun (BFG nuker type) is green. I could be wrong in one of my previous posts as I tried to shoot the dude out his mech with the rifle and couldn't do it. ****-knows, gone 60+ hours without sleep now.Last edited by dataDave; 23-01-2007, 19:15.

Sorry if I came across as arrogant. Yes, I did this on extreme mode with standard frags, machine gun and rocket launcher. I was actually looking for a VS but couldn't find one and thought perhaps this is to be done on foot.
I hid around corners (staying close to the walls is key, don't go out into the open) carefully lobbing frags while avoiding his plasma gun until the droids activate and rip into you. Simply swap to machine gun and take them down one by one, this is also your primary source of t-eng. At this point he'll likely transform, so dodge and fire off a rocket while he's in the recovery phase. Rinse and repeat.
As for my choice of explosives, they shave off HP nicely whereas the discs has to be stuck on the cockpit for effect. Unless you have perfect aim, don't bother with these.Last edited by Combination; 23-01-2007, 19:34.

You make it sound so simple
I can't change weapons/reload without getting a laser in the back, followed by another, and then a head-stomp or burst grenade for the kill. It's impossible not to leave the centre of the pitch if you need to venture out to scoop up more T-ENG that the droids have dropped or rocket ammo, it's not like you can wait for the droids to come to you. I honestly found everything else in extreme mode so easy after getting him out the way.
You have to agree that this is the hardest boss in the game? Surely?
I also found grenades to be suicide in my gameplan, I never had time to sit back and throw one, especially for such measly damage when I had more than enough rockets to get the job done.Last edited by dataDave; 23-01-2007, 20:13.

Finished this last night, to be honest it's a 6 or 7/10 for me. It was enjoyable but rather strangely the game seemed to get easier toward the end. The bosses (apart from the HUGE akrid one on level 10?) were getting easier and easier as well.
The story is a joke and the ending is appalling. What a sense of satisfaction I got (sarcasm) from seeing
my character had forgotten all his friends and everything he'd done
.
The online is far too fragmented for me and despite it being a (brilliantly) 16 player, the maps are huge and I find myself having to go and search for people to kill! Not to mention the fact that on the post-grab mode I didn't find all 5 posts even once in two seperate maps because they are so big, you'll get killed more often before you get a chance to even explore the map.
Hmm...this is a totally odd one to me. I feel though I don't like it and should be selling it yet something keeps drawing me back into it. I might achievement whore this game a bit more then sell it
I wonder if you can do a 1 on 1 match to get the 10 kill achievementhehe.
