Male Scoundral, though I am also regretting it. For most of the time playing it so far I've been running in with my duel swords while my party member (Soldier) holds back with blasters. Hmmm
Weird - that's exactly what I've been doing!
I think I'll take your example and hang back with guns (although I'm pretty nifty with blades now....hmm.....we'll see....

I think we are both regreting our choices cos we aren't levelled-up enough to see benefits yet, possibly. I'll report back here (let's call this thread.....ohhh....Echo Base? ) with progress reports.

Yeah it does work holding back, but I'm finding that my other guy dies a lot. I can't seem to keep track of my health and someone elses.

Yesterday I got attacked by 6 people at once, managed to take out 5 but the last took both my peeps out. Bah.

I'm just starting to get used to using the black button mid-fight to switch between characters. In a big fight, I've been queueing Medpack along the attack commands, to try and prevent death. I'm also trying to make sure I target the most important attacker using L/R.

Yeah, the health bar isn't very prominent on your own characers, and takes a bit of time to notice in your peripheral vision. I think this is because it is red and stays red. I'd have had it in the traditional green for healthy, going through orange to yellow to red as you lose health. Only a very minor niggle that, though.

Well 'tis finished. 42 hours or thereabouts. Thats the first 'epic' I've finished in quite a long time - which is high praise .

I won't say anything else as I don't want to spoil it for those still playing or yet to recieve there copies.

          But yeah. Great game.

          Now onto F-Zero

Got mine in the post this morning, just about had time to unwrap it before I came to work.

This is bad, I have PotC to review and it's been a bit of a chore already, damn.

            Regards
            Marty

I gave up with blasters completely. Now my guy has a big two handed swordy thing, while Carth has two swords.

I kind of wish my guy was a Soldier now, as I like jumping into the combat, but at least he is well rounded - ie I can hack into a security driod to take out the enemies without any problems.

Persude is cool. I hope it gives me more morally difficult options when I finally become a dark Jedi though. At the moment, most of the options aren't detrimental enough to the NPCs. I want them to suffer, dammit!

I didn't get a lot of chance to play last night (half an hour), but am at the point where:

It's really sucking me in. The way you can choose to move between good and bad, and the way that that changes the game, is really well done. The problem I normally have with RPGs are random, turn-based battles and linearity. KOTOR has neither of these, so it's all gravy.

Here is a tip for the dual arena, It helps immensly when fighting Ice and the people after especially Bendak Starkiller.

Use concussion grenades and one or two swords on your main character (Two if you've got the skill up to advanced), Throwing a concussion grenade, Then a Frag grenade and finishing off with your swords will usually take over half of your opponents health away.Repeat this if necessary.

Heh, that's exactly what I did

If she hadn't got that lucky hit (most of hers were taking off 4 points of damge, but her last was 18!), she would have been brown bread, mate.

I found that Power Attacks worked well, and if he started hurting me, I'd run around him and then apply a couple of med packs. It would take him long enough to catch up to me for me to do that.
                      Anyway, for me that worked.

I can't wait to get my grubbies on this one - sounds amazing!

How does the game handle character movement? Is it point and click ala Baldurs or do you walk around realtime using the analogue stick?

Well concussion grenades worked great on Bendak when i was playing.I started by lobbing one, It knocked him out, I then went and beat him with my swords untill he woke up.I ran away and healed it i needed to while dodging his grenades.Lobbed another concussion and repeated with the swords.

Worked fine for me, I beat him on my second go as well.Anyway it wasn't worth beating him...Especially if you're playing as a light side character. The reward wasn't great and it got used up pretty quickly.

True. But, I never turn away credits or XPs, so it's worth it from that standpoint.

Realtime using the left stick, camera with the left. I just wish I could angle the camera up, dammit!!

                                lo again all,

have only played for just over 8 hours, the day i got the game i started puking my arsehole up and spent 2 days ill in bed

Had a good session last night tho

Absolutely loving this so far, am playing as a female scoundrel (Kemar Le-Por), currently still on Taris, have just finished investigating the appartments in lower city, by the cantina .

Have defeated Ice, but the next bloke up kills me in 1 hit, am on level 3 or 4 at the min. Got a load of quests lined up, but i'm thinking that some of em may need doing once my experience is higher, i.e returning to Taris at a later time in the game (am not quite sure if this is possible tho)..
I started off using twin viroblades but recently went back to lasers to make easier use of frag grenades.

Been playing plently of Pazaak, very very addictive, and have won a fair bitta cash after purchasing some extra side deck cards, spent most of it on medi packs tho

Highly enjoyable, dialogue seems really well written, voice acting is good, totally absorbing, can't wait to play again very soon.

Have tried to upgrade my viroblade, do you have to have 3 upgrades for this to work on items? - i had 1, tried it, never noticed a difference, then when i got another, i tried again, --it let me select upgrade but im not sure if anything has changed.

There's also a couple of characters i want to run into again, and there will be no problem for me in being Dark when i do, and sticking a frag grenade up their arse, ....thieving Tarisian Scum!!
