I'm now 43 hours into this and still have one piece of the Star Map to get on Koriban. I'm loving this game so much I'm taking my time to do all of the side quests I can stumble on.

I've just gone through a major plot twist. I won't mention it here even as a spoiler quote as I know some of you will be tempted to read and spoil it for yourselves. It's good though, and although some will probably call me naive, I didn't see it coming at all.

Quick question guys, can you leave a planet if you haven't done all of the quests/tasks and come back later?

The first planet I went to after becoming a jedi was Korriban, but I'm getting my ass handed to me too much. Would I be able to go somewhere else and come back when I've levelled up a bit?

Was gonna go do one of my "deliveries" to Tatooine.

Yes you can, just board the Ebon Hawk at anytime and go to the computer terminal in the cockpit where Bastilla is. You can then choose another planet from the map screen and you'll leave. Personally I went to Tatooine first and didn't really have any problems with battles there.

It took me 45 hours - I did the vast majority of the subquests.

Be warned - if you want to complete all the subquests:

I cleared the bounty list, apart from the arena as I can't kill the old man with the big stick. Carth is level 6, and I'm lvl 5 (almost 6).
I love the chats you have with Carth every so often, you can get him so worked up : )
I actually got quite involved during them chats, was quite pissed off at the way he was speaking to me ft:

I had a really funny moment with Carth:

Heh heh heh.

Sometimes it's really tough being a baddie. They've made the moral choices really intelligent - being bad means being senselessly ignorant, bigoted and needlessly violent. It must be dead simple going towards the light side, but the dark side is a real struggle >_<

I've only done 3 of the bounty missions so far, which meant slaughtering people in their own homes with my powerful characters. Again, not one of my finest hours in the game in terms of moral decisions (killing Zia(?), the one who defended herself from attempted rape by slashing that attacker with a vibro blade, was particularly hard, especially when she was saying 'I was just defending myself'. Murdering her in cold blood for cash was pretty difficult )
Anyway, I won't be ahead of your in 'hours played' soon, Amn. Going out tonight and tomorrow night an most of the day Sunday, so it'll really only be tomorrow day time I get to play before Monday ob:

I visited Tatooine first and then went on to Maannan (sp?)

Just noticed some initial negativity in the F Zero thread, which JibberX countered well. I think it applies here, so thought I'd post it here:

What you have to remember is the game is difficult and immensly deep, hell it took me about 3 months to full comprehend F-Zero X.
Just wanted to say, anyone who is reading this thread who owns the game, and is thinking, "I don't like this. I can't get into it; it's boring..", give it time, as Jibber suggests. KOTOR is a slow starter, but the pieces start fitting together after about 3 hours of play, and it suddenly takes off

The evil female assassin though, she went down in seconds.
Do you find that Mission sucks? Wish I could use the Wookie rather than her, but unfortuantely she is essential for the Sewer section (I'm not losing Carth!).
                    Hey ho, this game rocks.

Then again, I haven't used the Wookie at all yet. And please don't ask me to remember names. I always get them wrong, Dave!
Just want to say again: this game is friggin brilliant. And everyone knows how much I hate RPGs. The combat is absolutely mesmerising, and more like some weird but effective hybrid than either out-and-out realtime combat or turn-based attacks. Think Final Fantasy 7 in Active Battle mode, but even more dynamic and adaptive, and you have KOTOR. Sheer excellence. And the story...!

VJoe was my fave game of the year till now. This has just beaten it for me.

Aye same here, I'm enjoying this more than Joe.

Oh, I can do all the mine disarming myself, which makes that woman a bit pointless. I should really go back and guy her a decent gun (perhaps she should use Carth's Blaster...), but that means travelling all the way back down to the sewers again (after transporting home, obviously).

Do you find that your guy is the only one who gets poisoned? That annoys me

I have to say that no other game is getting any game time at the moment as all I am playing is this.

Not in the slightest. It depends on all of your abilities and ratings, who takes the most damage and is susceptible to status change. None of mine get affected too badly. I think my characters are around the level 7-8 mark (you get into a lot of very large battles past the point you left the sewers).

This might be a spoiler for you Pete, but it's not major:

The only thing I have problems with is never having enough credits. I think I might have to start playing Paazak (or whatever it's called. Names again!), even though I don't want to really. I just know it'll start eating-up my time if I do >_<

I like Pazaak - the strategy of it is really quite fun, although I really need some -ve value cards. I also spent loads of time playing the card game in FF8, which lead to me winning the tournament you could enter.

I know what else I'm really liking in KoTOR, that all the alien languages sound right.

No you don't. If you transport back to your base from the map in the menu screen (ya know, hitting "X"), you can transport right back to where you left so long as you don't leave the base area you zapped to. Makes the whole thing effortless.
