You may need to reload a save, I've read a few people experiencing this problem with the barman.

I completed it last night with the true ending, I can see a lot of people mising out on a vast chunk of the game if they don't meet the requirements (it's pretty obvious what you need to do, imo).

Do you not have a save nearby, even an autosave from entering Yantar? Sucks

I presume you've tried it since quitting the game, sometimes a reload may help...

well had a quick go i was quite impressed

i love exploring and finding items and stuff which was pretty cool

i got a geforce 8800 gts to replace my x800xl and it seems to run well high detail with dynamic lighting

the AI impressed when i saw the enemies after being shot at actually try to get away

Really enjoying this game now - the steep learning curve at the start would probably put a lot of people off which is a shame as it gets so much better when you begin to collect some decent gear and the story begins to open up.

I don't think there is any other PC style shooter that is able to create such a dark and pretty damn scary environment as this game; the underground/labs scare the hell out of me!

Yeah I agree. Persist past the first 5 hours or so and then it opens up and becomes quite enjoyable.

well have been playing this quite

it is really frustratingly hard up to a bit where you have to protect the camp from bandits have seen at least 8 enemies and all i have is a pistol and a shotgun no ammunition for my machine guns at all

I've been playing this a bit too. Nice and open play. Yeah, i remember
that bit eastyy. When under attack by anyone alway backup to some
where with a bit of cover or later somewhere higher than the opposition.
As for ammo, have you a silencer pistol, yet ? I thought they where pretty
accurate early on. Also, do remember to search every body on the ground.
Collect their weapons and unload the guns, the drop them. Collect alot of
ammon that way. Otherwise, ammo later in the game runs out pretty
quickly and to get some it's a run back to a trader. Which usually involves
fighting to get their. Or you could drink loads of soda and peg it...!

I'm up to a point where i have to find some scientist. There's a building
nearby (research center) that alway seems to be attacked, but not just
by bandits. Those weird predator cloaking blood sucker mutants. Add to
those packs of dogs. Funny watching the fights, through my binoculars!
I've that Tunder assult riffle at the moment, nice power to it. Also, one
with a sight, very handy. I like how you can take the sign off and on.
Plus, an expensive dark-green suit with night vision now, cool...

well did it and sold most of the stuff i had gathered for some decent equipment and ammunition

pretty cool the size of the game and collecting stuff to sell (which i think was far better then in oblivion)

also finding hidden stashes and seeing packs of animals roaming around is smart

The protect the camp mission bugged out on my game, it's still in my list but I can't complete it for some bizzare reason :S

I was having a browse on the offical forums today and it appears that the modding community has exploded for this game, much like it did for Oblivion.
There are some great mods out already, one pretty cool one adds vehicles back into the game, which the developers removed before release because they wern't happy with it.

Yeah, i'm always trying to carry as much as possible. To the point where
your character is panting to death taking a few meters. Those soda come
in handy, heh. Usually though i'm trading for ammo and a better suit. Such
a ripp of though on the money in return...

It wasn't till the other day either, i start using those artifacts. Handy
Attaching them to my belt to heal and such, found a Soul artifact and
three meatchunks (think there called that). With 600% and 400% health !

Also, i've played through all the Silent hill games. Some creeping me
more than over, but when you play this with heaphones. When something
attacks you when your least expecting it. It's a knee-bashing, desk
                        experience...!

Do everyone else get the same problem as me. Not really a problem, but
usually i never get back in time for my rewards on half of the extra side
missons...! Not really worth it, sometimes, but shame to miss out on it...

                          Comment

I always find that if I was to go back to get the rewards on some of the automatically triggered missions (especialy some of the ones further into the game), then most of my time would be spent running backwards and forwards between the start area and the far reaches of the map. I just couldn't be bothered, especialy if it's just for a few thousand dollars. I tend to just ignore the ones that have me running back to the rookie area now.

I've failed several missions by not going back to collect my reward. Too far and troublesome to do it, and I'd probably waste loads of ammo and health packs trying to do so too. It does actually say though how long your deadline is on some of the missions.

I'm still playing this when I get the time - it just gets better and better...

For those interested, I found this user mod today which is meant to brighten up the screen settings - think it only works with nvidia cards at the moment though. Tried it on my machine and the lighting seems a lot better.
