I'm just playing some 4 V 4 team skirmish games and once you get everyone using the voice chat properly and communication is good the team based play is brilliant. Valhalla and Highground are awesome for these types

LOL, you sure we're talking about the same game? Halo online has always been about fast paced, in your face action.

Exactly. Just like VF4 on PS2 with the VF1 style graphics. The simplicity and solidarity was WOW in itself.

it's kind of strange that so many keep arguing about the visuals but next to no-one seems to be concerend about possibly lacking bot- or co-op game modes

people should understand that beta code means there wont be much change - if at all - in visual appearance when it's released in September. the game looks nice enough and was never intended to look like a "Gears of Halo"

Depends what you're comparing it too, compared to a game like UT (etc) then Halo is slow paced.

Bots will definately not be there, coop in some form will be. Live coop better be, but I have my doubts - no idea why

Yeah like Revolution says, I'm comparing it to games like quake and UT. I've always found the Chiefs slow movements a little frustrating, thats not to say I don't like the game, or that the action doesn't get frenetic. But Resistance just has more of that old school quake style shooter vibe to it.

I had a quick bash earlier and I'm loving it too! Imagine how good it will look in the single player game!

                      The 360 just gets better!

Heh, yeah - cheers for putting up with all the "can you hear me?" until I finally figured out what you were saying about how the voice chat works.

Also, cheers to whoever saw me struggling to drive the Warthog in anything other than a straight line, and told me how to do it properly. /Halo noob.

Only played a couple of matches there, but it feels great so far. The weapons all seem nice and meaty - the shotgun in particular is excellent - and the controls feel pretty much spot on.

So does the voice chat work like it did in Halo 2, i.e. you can only hear teammates who are in close proximity to you?

Unless you press the Team speak button (Up on Dpad), then yes. Talking about team speak, they've made it alot more obivous for you when to speak on the headset which has helped alot of my halo noob friends.

Yeah, but if you press the D-pad you can talk to everyone on your team. After you've finished talking the channel closes and it goes back to just those in close proximity again.

                              Edit: Pipped!

T'is bloody good isn't it?! This is all you could ever want from an online multiplayer title, really don't understand how people can say "it is just Halo 2 but slightly better graphics"........ermm....it is Halo....what did you expect?! The formula is still predominately the same with a few tweaks here and there, the new weapons add to the gameplay.......especially the equipment such as the bubble shield (BUBBLES!) and the teleporter thingy (forgot what its proper name is)....if it ain't broke why fix it?! The shield especially is great, I love drawing people into it and then throwing an grenade in just as the enemy enters......BOOM! Graphically it is obviously improved, textures and all......the water effects are brilliant....forget about 3D grass.......3D water!!!!!!! (if you can have such a thing)
