    Shadowrun

I was happy just writing little lines here and there but noooo, 'feel free to write a first play'.

First thing is it feels cheap, its worth doing the training missions just to get how things work here but thats the total of the single player. Or you can deathmatch bots.

Thing is, once you do the training and you've tried out the magic/tech it really starts to work, things like enhanced vision, gliders, gust/jedi force push, and summoning a minion to sit on the relic (flag). It can get really stratigic and needs a good team to work.

Any magic thats perminent keeps that part of the mana bar until it is destroyed, leaving one player to summon/rez/tree isn't going to happen just out of how much bar is needed.

There's a minigun too but it was rubbish to use if you're not having enough strength.

I got three lines into this and remembered I have the writing skills of a toastie

Ham and cheese for me then please

Can you give a quick rundown between the classes? Aside from the physical appearances is there a bit more to them in terms of stats / attributes etc?

Lol sure. Theres human, average at everything (woo).

Elf, more mana, faster at everything, lower armour. Also elves heal themselves over time, good for hit and run.

Troll, same mana as human, slow and well armoured. Taking damage increases armour to a stupid amount by using mana, as in you can empty the SMG into the face of these things and watch them grow spikes and slow down. They can carry any weapon with no weight penalty.

Dwarfs are fun in a really annoying way. A little slower and stronger than human with a large mana bar. These have a really slow mana charge and rely on stealing from other players, getting close to a troll ruins there armour, and magic objects are absorbed. One hit headshot proof too.

Oh, and mana is called essence in this game.

How are the maps? In terms of size, is there a game you could compare them to, such as battlefield?

Clearly they HAVE to be at least SEVERAL times larger than the GoW maps for example seeing as there's only 9 of them.

What is the soundtrack like on this? Is it typical new age techno hard stuff?

Your work is not finished, melenko!

I want to know what the story is with purchasing weapons and magic, how does that work?

A dude was telling me today to buy all the magic 1st and then weapons, what is the benefit of this?

Finally..... like 112 said, is there any kick ass music to kill to?

I'm wondering if you can go all Neo in this and stop bullets!!!

Katana wielding Elf sounds the ticket for me!

I heard there is an ability you can get called "wired reflexes" or summat and you can indeed block bullets with your katana!

Right... Music, well it's all set in Brazil, lots of drums. New age... something :/

The maps I've tried are not as big as Battlefield but that wouldn't work without the vehicles to cover that ground, bigger than Gears I think...

Magic first?! Depends on how you play. You get money awarded for kills/rez/objective and spend this at the start of each round. Everything is kept from the last round, and weapons are lost when you respawn. Thats respawn and not die because you can be rezzed as long as someone hasn't mutilated your corpse.

Katana blocks by facing the enemy and not pressing anything, with wired reflexes it can block gunfire. If it wasn't stupid enough to have elf speed + wired you can overdrive it.

Just got this today and i've been playing through training.

The FEEL of the game is absolutely lovely, I have to say that. It just feels very satisfying to play. All of the techs / spells are very easy to use, I thought they'd be in awkward positions but it works really well.

Just playing through my first bot match at the moment as I can't seem to find an online game, and it's a bit good! Initially very daunting and very difficult, it took me some time to tell friend from foe, but I soon got the hang of thing. When you die, you stay dead until the next round. It plays quite a lot like counterstrike in a few ways.

I absolutely LOVE the gust spell. Absolutely nothing like watching someone run for the artifact in a CTF game before just blowing them out the way with what can only be described as a Force Push. FTW!

At the moment i'm loving the Elf for the speed and essence while still being able to maintain good damage.

Resurrection is VERY good. When you resurrect someone, you link yourself to them, and a large chunk of your essense goes byebye for the rest of the round. If you die, the person who you resurrected slowly starts dying again.

Can you perhaps shed a little more light on the variety and size of the maps? Also, what's gust like to use? How far back does it propel someone? I loved the Jedi Knight games online for the sole reason that you could shove some unsuspecting guy down a bottomless chasm or hurl them through the air with force choke.

There's quite a lot of maps, and all of them seem quite large. The layout and design of them takes some getting used to, but then again I HAVE only played 2 of the maps so far. Basically, from what i've played so far, they're perfectly sized for 8 vs 8 matches so you don't need to worry about small maps.

Gust is VERY, VERY fun to use. It propels them back enough to drop them down chasms much like you've described, and it also worked on enemy grenades. As far as i'm aware, it doesn't affect anything your teammates at all so you don't need to worry about friendly collateral.

One other thing that might interest you...

When searching for a game, it came up with a message saying that 'Your party may need to be split for balance reasons, and will be put back together if balance permits' or something simular to that...

I think the Halo 2 style lobby matchmaking system is in!

Sounds like Halo2 party system version 2 tbh.

                            GNNN, it is!

                            From the manual:

"A party is a group of players who fight together. During a match, party members are automatically placed on the same team. After a match, the party continues to exist as long as it has at least one member. Members of a party have private voice communication until they join a match and enter the lobby, at which point standard chat takes over for the duration of the match."
