Just had some brilliant games with SilverGun!! At first I was atrocious, but then I changed class and got a bit more used to playing with real people (previously had only done training) and it's brilliant.

Seriously, this for me is a million times better than Halo. Whilst I'm aware that is a bold statement, this really is that good.

Panicking to run to a friend to resurrect them, then the person who resurrected you gets killed and you've no option but to stand near a tree of life...but wait...you're a dwarf and they sap magic...so you just slowly die under the tree, realising your mistake as you go and tree goes with you because you drained it of magic!

The scope is the gameplay is brilliant, the maps are spot on...this game absolutely screams quality and the effort gone into it is there for all to see!

Unfortunately that's about as much as I'll play of it for a week, by which time I'll come back and everyone will be amazing at it and I'll be ****e!

I can only imagine an 8 vs 8 NTSC-UK session.

If we got 8 of us all in a party, at the end of the server's current game it'll pair all us NTSC-UKers on the same team. This HAS TO HAPPEN.

The point is, I didn't need to...It immediately clicked and was FUN from the first game onwards.

I don't like Halo, I didn't like Halo 1 or 2 and I don't like 3. Why exactly does it matter so much? You love it, good for you, I'm glad people enjoy it, I just don't. But christ man, give it a rest!!

FUN, this is what this game is! It is just a blast to play, especially if you're playing with people you know. 8 vs 8 is just total mayhem, had a right few good games last night....couldn't join Silvergun for some reason though.

As for Halo, horses for courses I guess....lets move on.

Work shy postie turned up with mine later than I would`ve liked but, just finished all the training and this game is everything I hoped it was going to be, it is amazing beyond belief!

Unlike most FPS games, the emphasis is less "run and gun", choice of race, weapons, tech and magic all have pros and cons that have to weigh upto strike a good enough balance to be succesful whilst in combat, a thinking persons FPS I suppose. After training I had a couple of games against bots to try and find a decent race/weapon/magic combo but I need to search some more.

This game really is great fun and I can`t wait for the NTSC-Uk battle to commence.

I`ll post some more stuff later if I can tear myself away!

this game is everything I hoped it was going to be, it is amazing beyond belief!

Nail on the head with the emboldened section mate...thinking mans indeed!

For example..

My preference to the slots is :

Resurrect + Tree of Life + Grenade (or Strangle).

Now, if you have a team of 8, you need at least 2 people who can resurrect.

But you'll also need someone with some aggressive magic, you'll need a troll who can drain most magic attacks too...oh and you'll need someone who has some anti-magic grenades etc.

But to be honest, that's just scratching the surface.

The mad thing is that this goes on at a superb pace, and you don't even realise how much has happened in a round.

A really nice touch is that if you have a teammate who is playing badly and thus not getting any cash for the next rounds, he won't be able to buy a weapon and is stuck with the default Pistol + 2 Grenades, so you can just donate cash to him.

I liked how the items available change depending on how much cash you have, breach 7000 and the rocket launcher is yours, only one shot but one shot = insta-kill!!

The Katana is wicked too, you suddenly realise you are bleeding out but you don't get why..."I haven't been resurrected!!" you think..."So why am I bleeding out?"...then it hits you, someone has done a sneaky Katana slash from behind, cut your throat and you are going to die...

My slot preference with Dwarf is smoke, tree of life, and resurrection.

Dwarves have the largest amount of essence of all the classes, but they can't regenerate it by themselves. They need to sap it from enemies. It does however, make them ideal resurrectors as they can keep 3 people resurrected at a time.

Smoke is basically the anti-troll. Temporary invincibility + proximity essence drain on a troll, means they can't hurt you and their stoneskin goes byebye, meaning anyone raining death with a minigun can rinse a troll out in seconds.

Then of course, tree of life to make them healers aswell. I would've put teleport in it's place, but with their very low essence regeneration, teleport tends to drain it very quickly.

Elf + Katana + Enhanced Vision + Smoke + Wired Reflexes = CYBORG NINJA!

The ultimate in close combat, seriously.

Edit: Make that Teleport + Smoke + Wired Reflexes. Elves don't take to having techs installed as they completely zap away essence. I forgot.
