this gets better and better, once you get some cash and pick up some quicker cars the races take on a whole new dimension.

also benefits from not too many people playing it yet, you can get your times nice and high on the leaderboards (I'm top 10 for the first time trial in the game if anybody wants a shot at me !).

It's got a certain charm about it, I'm beginning to get ****ed off with the spinout mechanic, nearly always putting my rear-end to the back of the race though.

I need a beefier motor though, the one I got is struggling on the second lot of Flatout races... do you unlock em' as you progress through?

I'm playing thru the main game, can't remember the name but its the first option, just keep winning smashing for cash and you unlock the option to buy the better motors.

special mention to for some of the nicest water i've ever seen in a game.

This is enjoyable enough as a bit of throwaway entertainment but I can't shake the feeling that I'm playing Burnout three and four all over again (just with more sparks and some wacky mini games).

            Includes a similar soundtrack too

Like Bleeders I'm finding the spin outs a bit of a pain in the arse and even worse when the opponents block you and if you make contact seemingly get jammed on your front bumper, meaning it's awkward to get around them.

That said the Destruction Derby moments are a bit of a laugh.

Seems like an enjoyable bit of throwaway entertainment but if you've had enough of the Burnout series then this might not be the game for you.

these 3 x360 racing games seem to be dividing opinion a little.

for me I'm massively underwhelmed by DiRT and its for the part ex shop pronto, but I love this and Forza though

Really enjoyed what I've played so far. It's tough but good wholesome fun. Looking forward to getting a better car though! The first couple of derby cars are rubbish

Im loving this too. swapped over Monster Madness at work for this after being completely dissappointed with it.

Flatout thought is brilliant fun! I havent even tried the Career bit of it yet, just completely bowled over with the Mini-games mode.

Same as you. I think DiRT is garbage and once I get a few more achievements out of it, its being sold.

I like Forza but after doing 2 laps, I'm bored out of my mind. Where as Flatout most of the 3 laps races aren't long enough, I could easy do 6 laps plus no danger.

The only major problem I have with the game is the physics engine. Hitting certain objects, even very small ones, can send your car flying into the air.

If the physics are more or less the same as Flatout 2, then the two particular objects to avoid are traffic cones (tend to lift the front of your car up at high speed), and stray lampposts on the track (cause you to swerve quite sharply sometimes, especially if going round a corner at the time). Just my personal observations from playing on PC. Oh, and bumper cam is the best camera view in my opinion Especially when you get to the faster cars such as Bullet GT etc, I found them a lot easier to control using bumper cam than the sometimes-a-bit-vague external cam.

I'm preferring the Destruction Derby bits of the game to the main racing, which I'm finding a bit of a pain at the moment. Mainly, because of the mechanic of spinning-out or getting stuck to another opponent is pissing me off no end!

Racing AI is becoming annoying, guaranteed if you see another car going up or down a bank/swerving etc he's going to collect you as you pass, and I've never seen an AI car stuck behind a sideways on one

Good to see you can go back an re-do races to bump up your cash, it's just not worth buying the first couple of cars in each class, they are just too slow to win anything, hold onto your cash until better stuff is unlocked. Derby stuff is really well done, only thing missing from this game is a rear view/rear view mirror, miss that after Forza and DiRT.

Really enjoying this, i'm not finding the AI or car collisions nearly as frustrating as others seem to be, and it's certainly not game breaking in any way, shape or form. The racing on this feels really intense, the other cars actually race you, the sense of speed is excellent and the destruction elements are awesome and feel very refreshing, particularly after O.D'ing on Forza lately. Liked the first two FlatOuts on Xbox, and this is everything i was hoping it would be

Just had a 3 hour session on Live... it's easily the most enjoyable game i've played on XBL.

Sure Halo 3 is amazing to play online, but it's been so long since everyone in the game was playing for fun. Piss taking to the MAX and I loved every second of it

                                An absolute riot.
