I`m getting very bored and frustrated with this game now and I don`t think the repetitive soundtrack is helping matters, I think I`ve just had my last game on it.

I`ve been doing ok in the races and made alot of cash so buying vehicles to do the job hasn`t been a problem, but where in the begining there was nice fluid racing it quickly turns into just using nitro to smash and crash your way round the track and try and recover from the fact that you`ve just been fishtailed for the 1000th time.
Some would argue that smashing and crashing to victory is what the game is all about but it`s like two games in one. The first part of the game is a racing game, but the second part is just meyhem where you hope to avoid the ultra aggressive AI the best you can and hopefully win the race.
I know this game only came out on Friday but I`ve battered it so I do feel in some way that I`ve got most of my money`s worth and I can quite happily stop playing it.

That's probably why you're getting frustrated though Nembot - Cos you're playing it with the end in sight/mind at all times - I get the impression you're in a rush to nail this before Darkness arrives
Get yer arse on Shadowrun and let's do some f'ers
p.s Hated soundtrack at first but like all games it has now permeated my consciousness "Just like it's always beeyan"

You couldn`t be more spot on Yoshi to be honest.
Sometimes I just consume games like an american consumes Big Mac`s, rather than just enjoy the experience, I think the fact that this game wasn`t even on my radar has contributed to that also.
I`m still loving Shadowrun as much as when I first stuck it in my machine because it was a game that I was really excited about and not to mention the fact that it`s a wicked game.
FlatOut was just a stop gap to keep me going until the Darkness turns up so I suppose it`s doing its job.

Yeh ok I am already done with derby class and its my first nights play so I expect the AI to get stupidly aggressive from now on.
It seems online is where its at though, I think there are only about 10 people in Australia playing this right now (its out here in 4 weeks) but played a wee 4 player derby session and it was classic.
Burnout with derby mode basically... I actually prefer the courses and handling in this though but you can tell its the same breed of game. Love the online options for hosting. Good stuff.
I dont really care if the SP gets annoying later on, the online is sweet and makes the replay value worthwhile.

Aye, it is real giggle. Cheers for the games. I love the tournaments with a mix of races, derbies and stunt events. They all work really well and are a complete hoot.
Still enjoying the single player though. I've just got all gold on the first lot of Flatout mode. I still have two vehicles to unlock though.
Carnage mode is rock hard though. I struggle to get Bronze medals, let alone silvers or golds.

Yep absolutely top, top fun last night lads - Dare I say it's more entertaining than Forza online ?
And the net-code seems absolutely rigid - barely saw a car glitch across the tracks once !!! And seeing all the bodies flying across the screen in the minigames was class too
I'm enjoying SP still - The carnage missions are brick as Brats says - I've managed to silver a few but a gold doesn't even look feasible at the minute !

After reading this thread, I was seriously pumped up to get this, so I called into my local ASDA after work to pick it up.
So far, well, I don't know what you guys see in this. They say the first 10 minutes or so are the most important in a game, but I have given this over an hour now and I find it very un-inspiring TBH. Its very meh! Looks great in replays, but playing the game, I don't know, it lacks a certain something, like a sense of involvement or something. Its like a half baked Burnout.
I might give it a go another night.

Its very similar to Burnout but try it out online before you call final judgement. I didnt know what to expect myself but shockingly I now prefer this to Burnout and I loved that game. What I appreciate more about this game is the speed sensation is still there but its not all about top speed twitch steering and more about powersliding with control and staying out of trouble.
I also like the fact it has no traffic on its level, one criticism I always had with Burnout in general. Racing in traffic is cool but sometimes people just want the option to turn it off and have a more pure racing experience.

I'm playing it as often as possible, bored of Carnage mode, got the million point achievement and don't think I'll be returning to the "mini-games". Just not my cup of tea.
Third class of cars are even faster Yoshi, you tried the Pimp mobile in an online race ? (are cars are unlocked online) fast but handles like a shed.
