How about this for some tag-team AI T-boning on me earlier tonight, two cars had me pinned against the barrier, "reset car" was the only way out of that one. Poor quality pic sorry.

To me this is like an arcade game - it's like if the arcades had never died I could see myself going into town and paying a quid to sit in a big hydraulic cabinet playing this bad boy.

Not got that achievement yet David been trying to finish flatout mode first !!! And playing some online ranked though I don't think I've won any yet

How is the cornering supposed to be taken?

Some corners you can hold accelerate all the way round, if you hook it correctly. Others, i try and brake and turn, but my car does a spin and doesn't feel right.

I tryed to do that powerslide on the tips loading screen, but it just seems like im turning normally, not powersliding?

Yoshi yes I have been playing offline a fair bit recently.

Malc I turn in quite early, trying not to let go of the gas, not ventured onto the fastest cars yet though.

but when i do that, it doesen't seem to powerslide, it just feels like i'm doing nothing but turning like normal.

Thanks anyway. To me it seems a very strange turning system. I can understand a hardcore sim like GT4 or Forza 2's control. To something like Ridge Racer or Outrun 2. But Flatout seems somewhere in the middle.

Nail on head !!! The difference is exaggerated so it's obvious - Tune yer current car up as much as you can with the cash you have - It'll be enough to propel you through the next batch !!!

I've been trying to get the "complete all race cups with Gold in Derby Mode with an unupgraded Chilli" (you have to complete the top row of eight cups with a Gold in the first class) achievement. Blooming hard.

One of the secret achievements unlocked last night at a stange point, still no Frank Malcov one as Yoshi pointed out though, given up trying for it, though there are some theories on it over on a360p.com

Still a very enjoyable game, the difficulty level is really spot on, on both the race classes and stunts. Proper well thought through title

That Frank Malcov acheivement seems totally, totally random. I've got it, but I have no idea how. It just unlocked mid race.

I think I might have just side swiped Malcov at the time, but having also read the theories it seems to vary from finishing a race with your car on fire (?!), to blocking him from winning a derby race by trashing him.

This has been an absolute blast so far, picked it up yesterday and have played it faaaar more than I realised. Got all golds on the first championship and unlocked about 210 achievement points.

Was really struggling at first, but then I bought a better car and it completely tipped the balance however it's dawned on me just how different the same tracks are with different cars, as unlike most games, different vehicles require you to approach corners and sections differently.

There are some really niggly collision detection probs at some points which can be infuriating, especially if they take you out on the last part of a race and the whole pack just flies past you, but on the whole, this has been the most enjoyable racing experience on the 360 for me since Burnout Revenge 12 months ago.

Once you get it the narrative on the achievement changes to :

Your driving makes Frank Malcov proud!

Which makes me think it's to do with aggression & stuff - If you check Malcovs profile during loading it says something about how he was a once great racer who's had too many crashes - Maybe if you manage to launch your ragdoll out the car enough times by hitting trees or the sides of houses you get it that way ??

I got the Frank acheivement at the end of a race when I Nitroed passed first place with at the finish line to snatch victory.

I hate racing games usually but this one has me hooked
