I'm pretty gutted that there's no Silence track. Is there a really simple, really high speed one to take it's place? Many multiplayer hours depend on it

There is a Silence style track man - Green Plant! There's 2 recharge sections too so you can keep the speed very high!

Partially... though I would say Vegas Palace I is more Silence like due to its vast amount of speed boost pads and being in an oval also.

You can fly off as well - just like that bit out of Silence!

@David... Story #4... how you beating the gang members? I can never get rid of them all by the time the line approaches. I think my best is 8 left... and Chain auto drops back with 5000m to go too...

Keep spinning your arse off and boosting at the same time mate - that's all the advice I can give. It seemed really easy for me. You do know that you regain boost for every member you take out, don't you?

This is what I heard also. Seeing as I've only got Diamond left to beat on Master now, I might be able to confirm/deny at the end of tonight

Right then, tonight - my 9 hours are going to be devoted to GP mode. The time trials can wait and I think I'm far enough on story mode for the time being.

I hope the title screen changes when everything is unlocked. Just for that extra Nintendo touch...

Does anyone know how to unlock f-zero AX tracks on GX without visiting an arcade machine in Japan?

I am reliably informed that beating Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Diamond cups on Master unlocks the AX tracks in the shop. Buy the five tracks on offer to allow AX Cup play in Grand Prix, beat that on Expert to unlock the sixth (well, first) track (the Mute City Sonic Oval one) from AX in GX.

Looks like we are onto a non-AX-needed winner, folks!

Oh, for a minute there I was worried it was going to be something horribly difficult.

Story mode is miles easier than GP, IMO anyway. Some v.hard tasks take the piss though. I'm hoping you unlock the dude from the opening cinema when you complete Story mode on normal.

Love the backing track to the story 3 intro movie too - someone needs to do an OST!!!

As for Story #4, I'm spinning, side attacking and boosting, and yeah I know you get energy back for taking peeps out. But I just don't seem to take them out quickly enough, that's the problem...

You took all the words right out of my mouth!! I was gonna mention the Docs tune but I thought it might go down as being a little too homo-ghey. It is one for the ladies though - much Gatecrasher.

As for the mission 3 intro tune - I've had it in my head all day long! LOL!

The vocals on the intro movie are cool, if a little cheesy - but that's good. Reminds me of Justin Hayward from 'War of the Worlds'.

As for the OST - it may be a while, I've just bought the Metroid Prime and Fusion double album as it's only just been released. Way too nice though man.
