Also, I actually just got around to having a look at the Wi-Fi mode for Minna no Golf Portable 2 (had it a while, but never bothered trying it out online)

Slightly OT but...

Has anyone outside Asia had success with the Wi-Fi in this (MNGP2) When I go to Wi-Fi the guy just keeps running...trying to join?

Make sure that you but from the region that your game comes from as this is one of the games that has locking on the DLC. I tried buying a JP character for my UK game a while back but it wouldn't work with the game.

Got me a UK copy of this after ploughing God knows however many hours into the Jap one just so I can get online a little easier and get through the menus without having to use a FAQ.

I'm sat here now playing it with the wife, and throughly enjoyable it is too, but we're both feeling that something isn't quite right. Yes the music is different but it's actually not bad. The UK voices are nowhere near as bad as the translated PSP versions so it's not that. We're both racking our brains as to what it could possibly be that's wrong with the game.

Then, it hits us, at exactly the same time. It's Jasmine, the default female golfer. Sony Europe have decided, possibly after the "panty-shot" debacle, to give her a pair of bloody cycling shorts under her ridiculously short skirt!

Why, Sony? It's not even like they are modelled like the rest of the clothing. You've merely coloured in her thighs to make it look like shorts. And bloody awful it looks too!!

Rant over. Still, I can always go back and play the Jap one if it bothers me that much (not that I'm a perv you understand. It's just this pointless "censorship" does piss me off).

the Oceania course gone up on the euro store yesterday for the sum of £2.99

after sitting there for 10mins with the firmware upgrade I went into store and downloaded a very small 100kb 'token', then you go into the game, have to go online and wait for another 10mins as a massive game update, presumably containing the course downloads.

after all this I had my new course to try a strokeplay round on and have to say its a bit of a bast, I consider myself pretty good at this and can score -14 on the easier courses, had one round on the new course at I think 8+ !

narrow fairways, lots of gradient and really tough multi layered greens, its nice to have a new course but be warned, its not for the inexperienced or easily frustrated.

normal service resumed, just had another go and birdied first 5 holes !

then a bit up and down with lots of bogies/birdies and finsihed at -5

good course though, hope they do more, don't mind paying £3 a throw.

It is a good course, just shot -8 on a 9 holer. Played really good.

When i played 18 holes i shot -1 then +1(included a +8 hole).

Also hope for more courses and more characters. 69p and £2.99 is great pricing.

But seeing as the course was just 100kb im wondering if its just unlocking it from the disc.

I'm sure it just downloads data to your option file then the next time you go online the downloaded update will be the course.

thats what I aussumed as read it elsewhere so I went online and there was a big download going on, I didn't look before trying this to see if the 100kb file had unlocked the course from disc.

I know next to nothing when it comes to golf. I know and appreciate its technicality and precision needed IRL, but when it comes to the actual game IRL/Video game; I'm absolutely hopeless.

Here's hoping I don't do so shocking in this game haha!

Does anyone know if the same DLC is available for both the US and the EU versions of this? US version arrived this morning and I don't know whether to try and arrange a swap for the EU version or not.

Online play is fine between UK/EU I understand, so that's not a problem. Ta.

I think the EU DLC consisting of 2 extra characters, Kratos, Oceania course is still there, which I really should get on & purchase.
