Anyone got any tips for killing the

    snake boss

    ?

Like maybe a level skip cheat or something.

It's a boss fight that uses the motion controls to avoid a one hit kill and they are as flaky as the 180 flip, i.e. doesn't always work.

What's the best way of making sure that when it says move left, you actually move left and are not flailing the controller around while you get eaten?

I have really enjoyed the game right up until this incredibly poorly executed boss fight.

I understand what you mean mate, the movements for this fight have to be very precise. Basically, make sure you have the controller centered before it does the 'dodge' bit then flick it to the side like you do when you are side by side battling other Dragons. Think I took him down on the second attempt but had to concentrate on the movements so they worked properly... it is a lovely fight once you get a handle on the controls though, the QTE stuff is great to watch when you nail it

And totally agree with you on the reviews and the reason for them. Its like we are unwilling to try a new control method and the game suffers as a result in reviews. When, as we have found, given some time and practice the controls work really well.

A really nice game that has been given an unfair bashing.

Cheers Mardigan, after I'd calmed down I stuck with it and killed that sucker.

The missions after that are amazing looking!

Gliding down the ravine avoiding the spot lights and destroying the Mokai city

were stunning, its just a (kind of but not really for other reasons) shame that there is so much going on that you can't appreciate all of the gorgeous graphics.

I am really enjoying this now but I think it really shows up the poor quality of the Sixaxis tilt rubbish. The controls are so unresponsive and they can sometimes (not all the time) just totally fail. This combined with my experience of the Heavenly Sword motion control has really put me off the games that do use it. No doubt both Ratchet and Uncharted will have sections ruined by the controls.

The controls could be better for sure, but hopefully this is something that will be improved as the dev teams get use to it and get the mostout of the six axis.

The ravine night mission is a cracker and does look stunning. It took me a while to suss out that you had to take down the power cable things before you attacked the generators but once I did that it was great fun. another thing that adds to the overall experience is the score, it really is top drawer. You have some spectacular stuff still to come Chopemon so enjoy it all.

Its been a while since I got to the end of a game and just wanted more missions to play but that is exactly how I felt with Lair. Hopefully we will be seeing more of Rhon and his Dragon on the PS3.

Fingers crossed... although I will have to pick it up again if that does happen as my copy has moved since I rattled it to the end and replayed a few of the more epic missions... hopefully Rusty has as much fun with it as I did

                LAIR Score Now On iTunes!

...for those of you that would like to be able to listen to the music outside of the game, we now have Lair’s official soundtrack available on Apple iTunes! Just search for “John Debney Lair” in the iTunes store and it should come right up. I think it’s amazing how different the music sounds outside of the game setting and how well it works on its own, and yet how reminiscent of the game it is and how much it adds to the gameplay experience. Happy listening, and hope you enjoy! (BTW, we’d love to hear about your favorite tracks, so please post comments below letting us know…)
                Interesting!

Sony close down their own music download site and now they move one of their soundtracks to iTunes.

It may well be nothing at all but I would like to have Apple Lossless as a supported file format on the PS3...

I'd settle just for AAC to be honest, although it would mean me ripping my CD collection yet again.

                    AAC would be fine...

I imagine that the majority of people who use the ripping option would want their files as small as possible though and pretty much avoid anything which wasn't MP3 irrelevant of the quality.

Is there a chance that the PAL version will have had some of these control issues sorted out? I know its a long shot, but you never know.

Decided to pick this up after reading this thread as it seems to suit me to a t being a big fan of LOTR and Dragons and Factor 5s previous games. Went to Tesco where it was £35 but when I got to the till I was told they couldnt sell it me as it was subject to an emergency product withdrawal. Anyone have any ideas what thats all about? I tried Argos but no joy there, Gamestation also have none in stock.

Maybe it is being withdrawn and given more development time?

If I remember right it's because they didn't put the BBFC certificate on the front of it which means it can't be sold.

Bloody hell thats a joke. So they will haul them all back in, slap a 12 sticker on them and send them back out again? Or does it have to be embossed on the sleeve?
