i just feel sorry for EA.Every year they try and equal what konami is doing in PES but it never happens.

PES6 is better than FIFA 08,and with PES2K8 just round the corner i don't fancy it's chances much.

I dunno, this plays more like a slower Winning Eleven. I've found after a few more games. Not got my head around the Trick Stick mechanics yet, but I don't think this is a duffer, personally. Dribbling takes some getting used to, but defenders positioning is better than PES6, they make you work for your goal.

It's a good alternative to PES and if anything, will serve as a stop-gap till 2008 is released.

Gave it some more time this evening and it still isn't clicking for me. The game feels erm... floaty, passes and shots seem to lack a sense of weight (difficult to explain).

That's always been my problem with FIFA - it's floaty - You could remove the players and make them robots on tank-tracks or something and it'd still feel right - it's f-ed up.

I played a few more matches last night but in Pro cam "mode" and it made the game slightly more enjoyable. I found myself taking care with my passes more and therefore it improved my overall play. I love when you sprint near the area it goes it a Gears style "shakey" cam mode and you really feel you are in the action. The only downside to playing in this camera mode is that when you cross in to the box the camera takes slightly long to shift to the next player so you can't really see the player you are going to header with properly, here is hoping they fix that!

People who are having trouble scoring should bare in mind that unlike PES, over the top through passes actually work in FIFA infact id say they are essential for getting the drop on CPU defense.

Sturae have you actually played this, becuase your ball on a string comment is pure nonsense. The game has proper ball physics, the way the ball moves when tackling and shooting etc is all dynamic.

Aye, could be a right laugh; up-ending the opposing player, making quick runs into the box and getting on the end of a quality cross then talking ****e to the defender who didn't track you.... there's potential there.

Only drawback is that none of this is shipping with the actual game, it's coming 6-8 weeks later and by then PES will be out.

Yeah the multiplayer thing is gonna be free DLC, they probably could have included it but they want to rush it out to get a few sales before the new Pro Evo...

lol i dont think thats the reason tbh, FIFA is going to and always will outsell PES, even if its not as good.

Id try the PC one but i dont have a controller i can use, and id assume keyboard would be useless.
