Does any one esle CE disc make the 360 sound like it wants to take off?

My standard was a hell of a lot quieter than this disc, think I will be taking it back for an exchange

For the skulls, once collected, to use them you need to change the Campaign options by pressing X before you start it and you can choose which ons to activate. So you would need to reload it to activate them.

Fair play, as others have said the online stuff in this is mind boggling

The stats, ranking and organisation for film clips, movies etc is stupidly detailed and the wealth of info and options both fun to just trawl through and to play around with.

They've certainly set a high benchmark with it. This stuff is the new co-op.

I don't like this game and am still debating if I should return it or not. I am a fan of Halo 1 and even Halo 2. What did this game wrong? imo, about everything. I'll back it up.

I am very disappointed, I waited so long for this title and even had a blast with the Beta. But this... this finished MP product feels like a slightly faster PDZ. Yes, Halo has been made more tactical, Sniper is nerfed, Battle Rifle is nerfed, Sword is nerfed. Ok with me... but I totally hate the gameplay, pacing, aiming.. and jaggies. Jaggies... probably the worst on the 360. And that for a game with this financial backing. They are hurting my eyes and for the record I do play on a very good HDTV. I don't like the maps, the Ranked matchmaking gets on my nerves nowadays... I just want 4 vs 4 TDM.. not that ****ty snipers. 11 maps, and they are ALL being used for ALL mods. Whats fun about 2 vs 2 on Valhallah or 6 vs 6 on Guardian? I don't know. I remember the Halo 3 Beta as playing better, and having a clearer view of the carnage (it didn't have had this extreme PDZ ish glow, and probably even LESS jaggies). But I might be spoilt by the CoD4 BETA that I find totally rocking in terms of speed and smoothness... and addicting experience system (with challenges). Its a league ahead of Halo imo. Forge is probably nice, but i've never been a mapper. Movies.. they were a cool addition but in the old UT I already did this (ok, thats PC).

Campaign mode. Well apart from the fact even this has jaggies and even popup.. its SHORT. Yes, Bungie recommends Heroic and yes, I did it. Heroic is nothing more than the fact even grunts take half a clip of ammo. That makes the game longer. You run to an area, and a scripted amount of enemies suddenly pops up to shoot you in the back. you'll most probably die on Heroic or higher (esp. by Jackals) You'll retry and anticipate them. That way, I clocked about 8.5 hours instead of the 6. Bungie did promise a long Campaign, and even reviewers state it'll be 'at least' 10 hours... BS.. The second to last level... indeed.. I felt they pulled another H1 Library there.

Yeah, its better than Halo 2's campaign, I agree. But I do prefer Halo 2's multiplayer even though I hate the Sword and aim assist there. The rest feels better in Halo 2 imo.

Well, at least got CoD and AC6 to look forward to..

Hey Boris, thanks for the little game there. I was just having a look at the map so it was a nice surprise to have you join and get an actual game out of it!

Actually, I probably need a lesson in Halo (and general Live) multiplayer. Like, how did you find that I was in a multiplayer map? Can I go looking for games? I had a headset by the way but wasn't sure it was working. I actually had my sound down pretty low because my little one is in bed and so couldn't shout when I slayed you viciously with that hammer thing.

I need a lot of practice though. Looking forward to more games in a couple of days so y'all should add me.

On the single player, I'm getting my ass kicked. I'm now stuck on a big bridge section. I keep making small progress but, as always, the snipers are making my life hell. Really torn on whether I should go down to normal or stick it out with heroic. After all, they say heroic is how it is meant to be played. But I just saw I had over half an hour in the theatre of me just dying and respawning at the same spot. Yikes. Tough game.

I do wish weapons would give you more ammo. I get about several seconds from each weapon and then have to go hunting for more. Only the green pistols seem to last but they're rubbish. Of course, it's always when big guy spots me that I run out.

But I'm enjoying this. Probably more than I thought I would actually.

Edit: Oh, and does Bungie.net take a while to update? I took a few shots but it doesn't seem to have them with my profile or say I've been online. Did I miss a step?

Yeah, the green pistols are pretty crappy and, to make matters worse, it's easily the most prevalent weapon in the game. It was the same situation in Halo 1 and 2 if I remember though so they must do it on purpose.

The plasma pistol is one of the most useful weapons, hold downt he trigger to charge it up then when it is at it's full size let go and fire a big green homing bastard.

Hit a brute and it'll have no sheild, the second it leaves your gun you should switch to another gun and pump them full of lead or throw a grenade to follow up the sheild draining effect with a swift and painful death.

Campaign co-op has taken Halo 3 to a new level. It's like single player, with your mates Great stuff - that's what I've been playing all evening.

It's taking awhile now. But you need to make sure that you have had one file put on your file share so that the Bungie servers recongise your gamertag for it to upload automatically into your image folder. Otherwise plant the image in your file share and then view it on bungie.net and save it to your folders.

I've only played the first 3 levels in Campaign on Heroic, but this is easily shaping up for me to be one of the best FPS I've played in years; and I've never been the biggest Halo fan (enjoyed the first one, played the second one then started playing Half-Life 2 mid-way through my progress on Halo 2 -- never played Halo 2 campaign ever again after that).

But this is simply in a different league. Brilliant weapons, great soundtrack, great pace, great set-pieces, very good graphics, wide-open areas, fun vehicles, varied locations - what more could you want from an FPS these days? This has it all. And the graphics really are very nice. Not the best on 360, and it looks worse in corridors and cutscenes (much nicer outdoors) but it's bright and colourful and very defined. I'm satisfied.

Add to this co-op functionality and some of the best online multiplayer around and what you have is an absolutely incredible package worthy of every success and award it gets.

Well, after 3 or so hours on campaign i have to say that im totally underwhelmed, its feels so generic, the first level just bored me , and although graphics do not make a good game, the standard of them in the inside areas is terrible, if this was any other game but halo 3 we wouldnt let developers get away with that standard of shoddiness, heres hoping multiplayer saves it for me, im just not feeling this one at all at the moment. Dissapointed to say the least after all the hype.

hold up! i can't use save films/take screenshots in the singleplayer campaign!?

You can view Saved Films from the campaign but you can't rewind, make clips or take screenshots.

I thought it was on legendary difficulty that you had to complete it to see the 'extra' ending on top of the ending after you let the credits roll?

I got the post credits part on Heroic.
