What a game - I've had an absolute blast with it since I got mine. Not even finished the first level of SP and not dabbled in any co-op but what I have seen (custom matches & up to
rescuing Johnson
) has been phenomenal - I don't find it hard to believe an Edge 10 could be in the offing.
The problem as I see it is going to be only() being able to have 16 people in a game - we managed it yesterday and it was like a who's who of NTSC and the game isn't even out yet.
Replay feature is the stuff of dreams as well and as witnessed by the thread now going you can capture some incredible looking screenshots.
I've took the day off - this seems a much better proposition than work

Finished it this morning on Heroic. Excellent stuff. Really can't fault the gameplay. Was surprised how easy Heroic level was ... I guess I should've started on Legendary.
Someone was moaning about the AI ... I thought it was pretty good generally, but as someone has said, NEVER let the AI drive, they are hopeless on any battlefield that isn't just a flat plain. In the battle against the
two scarabs
, I let some wee guy drive while I manned the guns ... he drove from one end of a ridge to the other, about six times, then got fed up and decided to drive it straight off and flip the warthog ... and then had the cheek to moan when I commandeered it from him.
There seems to be a lot of criticism for the 2nd-last level too ... was that the
rescue Cortana
mission? If so, I didn't think it was too bad, but then again, I did just bodycharge my way through large chunks of it with the
invincibility and cloaking
power-ups, so it was over in a flash.
Regarding the ending,
I sat on the bus on the way into work depressed and thinking how **** it was, but after reading some comments above, I think I pressed the 'A' button too quickly! Aaargh!
So I'm off to YouTube for another look.
Disappointed that it
didn't tie in with Ghosts of Onyx storyline, I would've liked to have seen the inside of that shield-world. I wonder if we'll ever find out what happens to those characters.
Looking forward to many a co-op/vs game with you fellas!

Really?
i would consider myself to be pretty decent at FPS's and i thought Heroic was pretty tough (esp the snipers which can almost kill you in one shot)

It also only lists the last 25 clips so older ones will drop off over time.

For those who have played Legendary co-op, are there more enemies to cater for four human controlled players, like Frankie/Bungie have said, and is the difficulty a real challenge otherwise four player co-op will be too easy after coming from two player Legendary co-op in Halo and Halo 2?

Just before I finished it I was going to post a joke spoiler on my Game Profile saying
The Master Cheif dies
and then
oh my god! He HAS died!
I'm going to try some online co-op later but stuck at work now, does anyone know how the respawning works when a player dies or gets too far away from the other players?Last edited by MarioMark; 24-09-2007, 09:45.

don't press any buttons, and wait till after the credits.no I
did wait after the credits, it was just my first thought when I thought he had died.
There could be another one though, it's the end of that story but not the cheif, I think they ended it like that incase they decide to do another

There is so much to do, it's freaking brilliant.
Everytime I go to start tpying something I don't know where to start.
Graphics didn't dissapoint at all (apart from being a tad on the jaggy side), it looks freaking lovely. You can appreciate them even more in the saved film mode, where you can rotate around and see the incredible lighting effects.
I haven't played a huge amount of Campaign yet, but from what I have seen and from what I've heard there are some epic battles that would put Shadow of the Collossus to shame
As expected the Co-op and Multiplayer netcode works flawlessly and the campaign scoring mode adds a whole new world of competive play to it all.
