Probably a daft question but are there leaderboards on this new GW?

Yes.
Leaderboards with everything as you'd expect.
Was posting from PS3/Sixaxis yesterday hence the briefness.
Well, I was expecting more PGR and that's what you get but it's the PGR I can't help thinking they'd have liked to have delivered for launch. It's all kinds of stunning particularly if you're a gotham stalwart (the force will let out a wee bit of excitement when he gets it I reckon).
Graphically it's tops (I grinned when I realised during an online race I could see all the cars in fronts windscreen wipers going), sonically it's tops (some kerazy Borat style soundtrack stuff this time !), the two single player gameplay structures (arcade & career) are each of interest on their own, multiplayer (what we've played) has so far been sublime and lag free/very simple and there's a party matchmaking system that looks as easy as Halo3.
As mentioned there's an outpouring of achievements in your first few hours/sessions but some will take a long time (and there's the infamous 1,000,000 kudos gamerpic one for those who must).
Geometry Wars : Waves is sublime too - You can kind of understand why they haven't stuck it up as an XBLA game this time around the new format/structure probably wouldn't suit it (you get 1 life, no smartbombs and it starts mental and gets mentaler till it's completely ****ing mental)
Where I found Forza got a bit too technical and stale for me at times this is the equilibrium between arcade & sim and it's absolutely bang on
Bikes are great too - very arcadey it's no moto GP but once you get the hang of 'em they're tops.
Hurry up already and get it bought - region free, this is NTSC and stunningly the "people are playing it - how?" question is being asked....
tsk.

Does anyone else find the medal system in PGR unnecessarily annoying. I can't understand why you don't just get whatever medal based on your performance rather than choosing which one you're aiming for. I can't count the number of times I've got a platinum score when going for gold and taking ages to repeat the feat. Can't see it ever changing but I think its a lazy attempt to give the single player mode longevity.
Anyway, roll on friday, I'm really looking forward to this one.

****ing great, great game this!!1!
Been on it for most of the weekend with smatterings of Halo in-between, but the whole shebang, it's superb.
The motorbikes in-particular handle well and personally, find easier drifting with than the actual cars. Not to mention being able to pull off endos and other tricks whilst hurtling along at 130mph.
Weather effects, again as someone mentioned earlier, are su-bloody-purb. I particularly like how if your driving in snow, your car starts to ice over as the race progresses, looks good.
The difficulty though, I found it to be tougher than PGR3 personally, a good challenge none-the-less though. Achivements come thick and fast - at first. Then, they dry up and you have to grind and work away for the remainder of them.

Besides, they've fired in the career mode now so you can just skip the arcade mode (the medal structure) if you so wish. I doubt you will though
Just over 750k on GW:W - disappointed with the NTSC scores so far with the exception of Fry - By Christ it's tricky though the toss up between keeping the waves down and collecting the multiplier tokens (which send your score rocketing) is tricky.
