How's the difficulty and handling on the single player compared to PGR3 please?

I played the demo for 3 last night to try to get a feel for it (due to being a Ridge player), and whilst the bronze level was easy, the silver level seemed disproportionately hard.

I like the idea and look of PGR but as I say I'm a big Ridge fan, so realistic handling/requirement to get the right line etc is a turn-off for me.

It's not realistic it's balanced between arcade & sim.

It's supposed to get harder as you increase the medals once you click with the driving model it's all good.

If RR is the extent of your experience of driving games then yeah you're going to have some adjusting to do - never go near Forza2 though.

If you are looking for the racing line Phil then you probably aint playing it right. If memory serves me corectly PGR3 was about executing the best slide you could while maintaining maximum speed, I hope this aint changed with 4.

Are you ever in danger of going over the handlebars when doing an Endo Bleeders? It sounds cool, but I would hate to try and rip one off 2 feet from the finish line only to fall over the front of the bike and see everyone fly past me hehe.

im finding 4 easier than 3 at the moment, probably got 30 medals so far of which 10 are plat , 15 or so gold and the last few are silver (started on silver but moved on up to gold after a few races as silver wasnt a challenge)

steel does anyone actualy select this one?

silvers are way to easy can be acheived with anything that comes as standed

gold very acheivable, but i had to unlock some of the better cars in each category for some of the tracks

platinum this is where the challenge is, doesnt have to be a perfect race, i found pgr3 you had to do a perfect race everytime to get a plat medal, with 4 you can make a few errors but still come away with a platinum

Ah, so are we talking slide via traditional braking or slide via the handbrake here?

I'm wading through Gotham Career before hitting Arcade again, wanna have the right tools for the job on that one.

Either, you get kudos points for pulling off both. The handling sits between Ridge and Forza I find, it helps if you get the right line/angle, but you can always pull it out with a handbrake drift if your cutting it fine.

@Mardigan - Yes, already done that, 120mph, endo GET. Flew about 100 feet with the bike, can see this amusing online.

I just want to state for the record now, the first few hours of online gaming with this are going to be all about creating the most horrific bike falls ever filmed like driving into the back of a car as it brakes into a corner, hitting and endo and aiming to fly over the car and wink at the driver as I fly past his windscreen

My mate recently got rid of his 360 for a PS3 and if he finds out about this he is going to go bonkers, haha.

                      Serves him right.

You can flip off other drivers on the bike as well, hit B as you hurtle past and your biker looks back, gives them the V, then you can pull off a wheelie just to rub it in.

This is sounding better with every post... the only thing missing is a glass bottle or chain swing button and we have next gen Road Rash

I spent about 3 hours so far with this since thursday and i have to say although i love it , im kind of upset with the achievements, some are so easy i have nearly 450 points already after that amount of time , i took me months with PGR 3 to get there, but it dosent distract from being a great game mind you.

They lowered the difficulty of achievements because they found out only a small number of gamers had all of them in PGR3. Basically, the Platinum achievements are hardly rewarding.

I welcome this new achievement setup - there's 3 puzzle ones and looking at the tiles I think one is back to the future related I'm sure Bleeders can enlighten as he has it.

                              Delorean + Test Track + 88mph maybe Bleeders ?

This is the best driving game this year, hands down the best gotham game they've ever done and, in a year that'll surely go down as one of the best ever gameswise I reckon it'll make my top5 no bother.
