Daresay Xbox owners will get an update when all the classes have been done. It's too costly for Valve to put numerous updates through M$'s vetting process every month or so. Having said all that, if you do enjoy TF2 then you should really look into purchasing the PC version - cheap as chips now, and generally is superior in every aspect.

@Tig: Yes, Spy too I love targeting heavies as sniper though, simply because they can't strafe fast enough to avoid getting headshotted.

Word is Valve are releasing the TF2 extra content PC owners have been enjoying for the Xbox 360 before the end of the year. Apparently Valve wanted to give the content away for free but Microsoft, being the greedy, money-sucking leech of a company that it is, and as is so often the case, is forcing them to charge for the content.

All the more reason for playing the PC version instead if you can. Charging for the content will also cause a rift in the community - on PC, all players all have the same content, so the community stays together. On 360 however, it will mean that you'll have people playing different versions of the game. Not good.

I'm glad it's coming, don't mind about the price as long as it's not extortionate.

Hohum: The small players left on TF2 360 love the game, that's why they're still playing it now. So the majority will have the DLC and it wont segregate the community that much.

The few still on the 360 version must be die-hard console players then... especially if they don't mind paying for free content.

Well, I love the game and do mind paying for free content. It's disgusting that Microsoft can force a company's hand into charging for something they themselves want to give away for free and it's high time people stand up to it by not using their wallet.

Valve's support for the PC version has been superb. All classes are getting updated, and each update comes with a map or two. And PayLoad is an awesome new gametype.

I thought MS didn't charge for content that was free on other platforms? Or is this a case of insisting Valve put in a unique, 360 only map so that justifies the cost?

Well almost all of Half Life 2 is so I would say all of it.

Out of the two episodes released so far Episode 1 is my favourite. Aside from the slightly slow and dull opening, the underground nature of the game is a nice switch and harks back to Black Mesa in Half Life.

                        Criminally underrated.

I'm playing through it for the first time at the moment (Episode 1 anyway, have played the original through before) and I'm not really liking it at all to be honest.

Constantly low ammo + flashlight = survival horror. None of that in the first two games - even Ravenholme was a shooter section, just within a more unsettling setting.

Let alyx fire for you then to conserve ammunition. Also the torch recharges instantantly, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah I appreciate that, I'm only chipping in where it's necessary. Just not really want I wanted from the game at the moment.

Episode 1 is designed to be played through with the gravity gun. It's a lot easier than it sounds, I have the achievement for doing it

I agree completely. It was the same when the Gears of War map packs came out. Epic wanted them to be free but Microsoft said that giving away too much free content devalues the paid-for content on the marketplace. It's just a protectionist tactic intended to prop up their pricing strategy if you ask me. If they let small updates like this go free it would be another tick in the box over rival versions and they'd probably see better software sales as a result.
