Like everyone has been saying visualy this is stunning, the animation in particular is really impressive. Gameplay wise its pretty standard ratchet and clank fair, the demo basicaly played like a more spectacular version of the opening level from Ratchet and Clank 3.

Its worth pointing out though that there were no different control options in the demo, just one default one, which considering i usualy play ratchet and clank with the set up that makes it play like a first/third person shooter annoyed me a bit at first.

However the default controls have been slightly improved since the last game (the aiming of guns in particular) and it didnt take me long to get use to them. It really does all feel very slick.

The developers have said the full game will take the average gamer 14 to 16 hours to complete so it's not too short.

Dont worry, you wont fall off every five secs as is the case with Sonic After playing this demo ill be picking up the full game when it is out.

I guess if this is finished Resistance 2 will be on the cards next for Insomniac.

I really don't see what people are complaining about concerning the graphics in this demo! Especially when you consider it is a demo from 6 months ago.

I agree with you rmoxon about the controls, I was always a 1st person control player for these games.

This week's 1UP Show has a lot of footage from this game, looks promising indeed

                    I really liked this.

It's long been apparent to me that it appears my eyes are rubbish as a load of games I think look good (including this) are actually horrific visually (apparently), so pay no attention when I say I was impressed with this game's graphics. Animation was superb, the scale of the level was immense (the city looked vast) and there was so much going on and the game seemed to cope admirably (I certainly didn't spot any frame rate drops but again, my eyes ).

To play it's nothing massively revolutionary, but I did think the pacing of the level was really well done with it quickly moving from one section to another and keeping you on your toes. I quite liked the collapsing sky bridge sections. Don't understand the complaints about the rail grinding. It was far superior to the similar sections in Sonic the Hedgehog.

My only real concern was the Sixaxis section. To be clear, I actually though the section itself controlled well, it was the fact the game had to take a pause in the action to tell you what to do that felt really jarring and slightly ruined the flow of the level.

Overall though, the demo impressed me enough to put in an order

                    PS - Clank is awesome

Just played through the demo and thoroughly enjoyed it. So much going on on the screen it totally blew me away. I thought the videos we'd all seen before were pre-rendered/intros and I was quite shocked when I saw it was actually the game!

Bit disorientating at first mind you, as I've not played any R&K games before and wasn't exactly sure which direction I should have been going. Soon got into it though.

Damn you and your funky eyes C lol!

It looks fantastic and I just can't understand why people are complaining about the graphics in this.

I would have preferred to of had a different level for the demo though as recent demos seem to be a lot more open than this one according to the people who have played them.

I suppose that's the nature of this environment though, you're on ledges and walkways between buildings so it's going to be limited. I'm looking forward to playing the ground based levels when I get this.

Hopefully the pause while moving to motion control will be well gone by now after all the extra optimisation on the code.

                        EDIT:

Just ordered the US version of this now. It's out a couple of weeks earlier and also cheaper!

I had a voucher from MovieTyme too so I couldn't resist after playing the demo.

Actually, after spending a fair while messing about with my tv's settings, I have to go back on what I said yesterday. This is a great looking game.

Not sure how my other games have looked fine all this time, wheras R&C looked blurry, but thankfully they're all looking great now

Still not sold on the gameplay, mind...

The graphics are really nice. Not sure if this my sort of game though.
