Havent read this thread today, staying away from Mario til about 10 tonight when I've done a fair bit more uni work but is everyone going crazy over this now? Is it the second Jesus?

I should be the most excited boy in the world, being the biggist mario fan to grace the universe. Instead i have to f*cking sulk because, my wii is in for repare for the 3rd time with the same problem. If i had the money spare, i'd actually buy another Wii, but i haven't. So come tomorrow, i'll just cry some, then some more, then a bit more.

So far so amazing. So much imagination, so much fun and excitement. I know I have only scratched the surface, but I have had more fun in the one hour i have played so far than in the entirety of some other games. I must look like a total advert for the Wii as I play it, as I cannot help but smile and wave the wiimote around with a ridiculous flourish as I jump into those orange stars.
This is why I love videogames so much, last night I was rushing around Chernobyl avoiding radioactive dead zones while plugging ultra-nationalists in the back of the head and today I am an overweight plumber taking to mushroom men while flying through the galaxy.

don't think i'm going to add anything original beyond whats been said but my god, this is fantastic.

it seems to just turn everything you think you know about 3d games on its head.

as a grizzled old gamer there isn't much gamewise that has put a smile on my face with its sheer joyousness as this in recent times, some reviews called it effortless but it isn't, this games reeks of polish, perfection, talent and money.

about an hour in and its wonderful, only slight downside, on a big screen some of the lighting is a tad jarring and the characters have slight white outlines, like when tv progs do cheap bluescreen. don't notice it most of the time though.

the way levels spin round and make you look at them is amazing, makes my head hurt in a good way.

スーパーマリオ Galaxy is just so good thar I concentrate so hard ,my face hardly moves,from a permanent grin to eyes that are in super focus mode and blinking is rare!! SMG addiction,lol! I,m even posting this from my Wii, I'm completely attached to the machine since Galaxy arrived.

Game of the year :
No competition, it's miles better than any game in any genre, on any machine. If it was bloody HD, it would be a certainty for all format magazine's annual awards, lets hope they look at how amazing it looks in 480/i/p through component for both and RGB for 480i. You owe it your eyes to play on a tv(CRT,looks great any size with RGB/Component)(SD Plasma with goood contrast, and small screen size, 32 inch is my reccomendation for 480i on plasma and36 inch in 480p on plasma)or projector that handles Wii /GC graphics well,something like 800*600 as top res for pj.

Close call, but yes to me at the moment.

Yes , it is just minisculy shading Zelda:TooT/Lttp for me, and that is a massive statement for an Ocarina and Lttp nut like me!

Every real gamer owes it to themselves to see true Nintendo magic changing the boundries of excellence again.Buy a Wii, Buy SMG and make yourself the happiest gamer alive!

Just had my girlfriend doing the P2 bit going absolutely mental collecting the stars - really enjoyed it too as it's super colorful and all that. Loving this.

I just cant help collecting EVERYTHING ever - especially as when I do I get little jingles of sweet mario music lulling my brain and a nice shiney explosion of colourful stars. Aaaah.

time will tell for me how good this really is but my impressions from tonight are it is pretty damn impressive.

every other dev has been stuck going for me realistic physics and all you needed was less !

its just so inventive and the concentration required to play it is really high as it tears up so many norms about what you can do, where you can go and how you get there.

i'd been playing (and enjoying) a lot of Ratchet on the PS3 but this really shows that up as being pretty devoid of anything new.

20 stars in now - just when you think you've seen a really clever level the next one is even better ? Just a very simple thing like shaking the wiimote when you want to be propelled by a star draws you into the game and makes everything feel so connected to you because of the amazing control method. Will I manage to put this down tonight? ... one..more..go.

Love it so far

I've just seen my first retro level - turning blue blocks to yellow - and it's great. Up until now, the game was fun but if this is the kind of puzzle/platforming to expect then the game is about to get SO much better
