Asides from the mini-game-ish parts that rely on the Wii controls (Just let me use the fricking analog stick), I can't think of how this game could really be any better. It's just gorgeous, it looks good enough to eat, runs at 60fps which is more than can be said for the majority of "HD" games on the other systems and is a much better selling point IMO, and is just an unadulterated variety fest.

Just had my first encounter with bowser. AMAZING music with that one and he looks absolutely awesome! Actual flowing hair and the like - very cool 25 stars now and gonna stop. I dont want it to end :|

Absolutely amazing to look at, fantastic musical score and controls that work so perfectly which mean you can concentrate n having fun rather than fumbling around remembering what button does what.

Might have to pick up a second Wii Remote tomorrow so the wife and I can try the two player mode.

It's rare that i'll sit down with a new game and play for 5 hours non stop - feels like when I was first discovering Mario 64 - always excited to see what the next level is

Wow this is awesome!

Got 4 stars so far and was giggling and smiling away throughout, just what I needed after a hectic few hours/days!


Hopefully gonna cane it tomorrow night though, cant wait!

Wow, what a game. Its the Mario we all know and love but ten times better! I have only just got to play the game but the biggest compliment I can pay it is that a quick 10 minutes go turned it an hours worth of play. The classic Mario gameplay has been taken, shaken around and this is the result! The whole walk upside down thing was a bit weird at first but after like 10-15 mins it felt natural. Graphically it looks absolutely stunning for a Wii game, Mario has never looked this good. Special mention goes to the music, it is brilliant and compliments the game perfectly. Looks like my Wii will be getting more playtime than I expected in the next few days. I will finish as I started, what a game!

Absolutely FANTASTIC!! I feel like im a kid again!

The best thing about it is that its got that same feel to it as SMB3 for some reason. The bee power up works amazingly well and is SO MUCH fun! It reminds me so much of the frog outfit!

Graphics, controls, music, ganeplay.. It don't get any better than this!!

Without a doubt the most fun I've had in years!

Seeing that you and I share a dislike for Mario64, I'm now very eager to play Galaxy.

There was me being all negative, thinking it would just be a nicer looking edition of Mario64, when it sounds like it's soooo much more.

Got to get my hands on a U.S copy soon. Best place to buy it from?

edit: just ordered a copy. I hope it arrives pretty soon.

i didn't want to go to bed last night and stop playing, now I've woken up and had to have another go before going to work !

i've just gone back and done the first couple of levels again for no other reason than i want to and they are just imense fun.

this seems to have just really nailed so many elusive things so perfectly. its wonderful

Ive absolutely becam smitten with this game. I was pretty hyped reading all the posts here and I thought it would potentially fail to live up to this.

However after spending some time last night playing it all I can say is WOW!

What a superb looking and (more importantly) playing game, its totally made me remember just how good ninty can be when they put their mind to it. The way the levels combine old school mario action with 3d puzzler is immense, although I will add that it did take a wee while for me not to feel like i was going to "fall" off the couch lol

Couldnt wait to try out the bee mario I had seen as well so i was well chuffed when that level occured quite early on. Hopefully I'll get some time to dedicate to this over the weekend now that the missus is distracted with COD4 (Cheers tikkaroma )

I can't add anything to what has been said - just wanted to make special mention of how good the controls are; other devs now need to unpick Galaxy to see how you build a game around the Wii controls, rather than just shoving some waggle in at the last minute.

I'd made a real point of avoiding everything about this pre-release as hoped it would be a bit special, I think it needs to be enjoyed 'cold' without spoilers as each level seems to bring something new to the table that just makes me smile.

i hadn't believed there was this much scope left to apparently raise the bar so high, so many people talk about those first moment with SM64 and how nothing has come close since. for me this does and then some.
