That took me about 60 minutes to do, I was pretty pleased by the content. There's enough story and stuff to do for the 400MSP and would definitely grab the next lot based on Bring Down the Sky - I want to play through the mission again with differing options to see how it pans out.

    Glad you're enjoying it CS.
    Thanks Marty.

I'm getting stuck into all the side quests. I really missed loads! It's only a tiny mission but tell me, am I the only geek who was blown away by the

    moon mission

    ?

Or more specifically, stopping the Mako, jumping out and looking back

at mother earth. I had a huge smile on my face, and couldn't help slip out a "I'm on the F***ing moon!"

The mission was very simple, but the little easter egg with the
probe, and then the feeling of immersion....

    Well again, colour me impressed.

I collected Vegas2 today after work (FInished at 12.00) and I found myself at the used counter looking for Oblivion on PS3.... In the same way that getting uber kills and then points/upgrades in COD4 is addictive, I've found this whole action RPG genre very interesting.

I really liked that mission, although I was disappointed I wasn't able to

go to Earth itself. However, it was nice being able to visit the system.

I'll definitely buy the DLC at the some point since I really enjoyed the game. I've been meaning to play it for a second time anyway so maybe I could buy it then.

Yeah, that would be cool. Maybe in the next DLC?

I thought the Bring down the sky DLC was really fun. I did all submissions and it took about 75minutes.

I'm at 25 hours now, & I have only 1 sub mission left. The game has continued to amaze and engage me, & I am left in no doubt that this is the best Video Game I've played yet.

I even love the fact the news reports are realtime in the lift. I thought the mission

where you go and convince the Biotic to release the hostage on a ship was great fun. One moment you hear the news in the lift, the next you do a star trek style attack on the ship &

get the mission done. Brilliant. I also thought the visuals looked super on that one. I'd very much enjoy a DLC of that type, but bigger in scale.

I'm now ending the single player game, and I'm really glad that I have done all the side quests. I feel skipping them would in some ways have missed the point of the game.

I have a great desire to replay the game, on harder difficulty and without so much AI assistance of the power ups, but 25 hours is a big commitment of time for me, & I have been given special permission this week for extra hours! (I'm oncall with work anyway, so can't do much else.)

Utterly brilliant game, and also the best looking console game I've experienced.

Time really flies playing Mass Effect!

.... and then it's done. My last save point was at about 27 hours.

Some posts back I suggested the game was my most enjoyable video game experience yet, (Not something I've said on these boards before.)

The past 2.5 hours of enjoyment have served to confirm that view.

Utterly utterly superb. It's quite amazing really, as the game certainly does have flaws, (Frame rate, repetative sub missions, steep learning curve, texture pop in, occasional A.I issues) which on paper serve to mark the game down.

Experiencing this adventure, with the absolute clear picture that these devs poured all their energy into making the closest any sci fi game has been to "Interactive Movie", pole vaults this game to the heady heights of classic status for me. It's value really is greater than the sum of its parts.

Clearly this is down to the fact that the game hit all the right heart strings for my tastes, blinding me to many of the negatives, and also it's my first play through of a Bioware game.

Even so... What a game! What a climax and what an ending! I've never had the same feeling of kinship with the characters in a game before. Such emotions have been reserved for only the very best film, plays & novels.

Welcome to the next generation, and thanks Bioware for such a wonderful game. I can't wait to see what you do next time.

          10.

I never managed to get very far in Mass Effect during my initial play, mainly cause my Xbox 360 RRoD. I've now gone back to it and have finished it in around 13 hrs. Played as a male, using the standard model and the Soldier with War Hero.

            Utterly superb.

            Spoilers:

            1. I let the Council die, shameful but Sovereign was my first priority.
            2. Wrex lived. My charisma was how enough to persuade him from a gun fight.
            3. Kaiden died. Ash was my love interest who had accompained me throught-out so it really was a no brainer
            4. Ash got some shephard love!

Finally finished this after being without my trusty Xbox for 2 months whilst it was being repaired.

Overall I loved it however there were small things I'd fix for the sequels.

I'm playing thorugh again jsut for the achievement points - as I did every side quest first time around I can afford to run through pretty quickly.

Will pick up the d/l content at some stage as well.

              When's the sequel due? 2009 I guess?

I got this for xmas, played it a few hours and thought it was bee knees but then other games came out and just put it to one side.

I want to play it, gagging it but GTA4 is my main ting atm..

Thinking of getting into this, but dont think I have the sort of time to spend exploring every little bit, doing all side quests and stuff.

If i skip them and do main story, am I missing loads and ruining the game?
                |Just wanna play this and get righ tinto it, but afraid i might have to just concentrate on main quest.

                What u think?

You won't miss much. There is an interesting side story peiced together from various side quests but I'm pretty sure you'll have an enjoyable experience sticking to the main story line.

In my opinion, if you do the side quests, it actually ruins your love for the game. As the majority of side missions means you have to run through repeated levels that look exactly the same as the rest of them; except some funiture is moved in a different place.

Just play through the main quest only. It is much more enjoyable like that.

Agreed actually - although I might enjoy them more in the PC version when it looks like combat/tinkering around with equipment might be more enjoyable.

I did exactly the same things! Finished this last night. I did all the sidequests save a few - the data disc from ExoGen HQ, and I couldn't find the final Cerberus base (it didn't appear on the map).

Definitely one of the best, and most enjoyable (because one doesn't always mean the other), games I've played. The amount of care and detail put into everything was superb. I agree the framerate could have been a lot better at times, particularly during the last battle. Also, the way the conversation trees were implemented meant that there were only a few occasions when different choices actually changed the story. The planetary sidequests became repetitive, too, and the denoument seemed rather rushed. These are all minor gripes, however - a superb experience. The Mako sections would almost have made a game by themselves! I have a few questions:
                        1.

When could you have sex with Liara? I bedded Ashley, and had a heart-to-heart with Liara where we agreed we liked each other, but she said she needed time to think about things. I assumed I'd have another chance to woo her, but the game was over before I saw her again.

                        2.

Did anyone save the Council? What happened?

                        3.

What happens if you let Ashley die rather than Kaiden?

                        4.

If you play as a female character, who are your love interests?

                        Comment

                          1. I think (This is how it happened in my last playthrough anyway) there comes a point where if you haven't already made a choice they essentially come to see you and make you choose. The act happens not too long after that. I chose Liara. Well actually I asked for a threesome and was told to GTF.......I then settled (lol) on Liara.

                          2. Aye, did you get the bit where you had to choose a new council member ? If not then that's what happens.

                          3. Pass, I always go with Boobies.

                          4. Kaiden or Liara.

I havent played this for a while, I got stuck on the section where youre on the moon (though i think its optional actualy) I went inside some building and kept dying in about 2 seconds becuase i was attacked by about 100 flying robot things. Wasnt fun, so much so that it managed to put me off a game I was otherwise enjoying.

That bit was easy just retreat back through the door and let them come to you.

Maybe it's because I merely played the game on normal but I can honestly say that none of it was ever really a struggle. Get in too deep and simply fallback.......Never even bothered with Biotics (Which make things much easier IMO) until later playthroughs.....Perhaps thats a fault of the game though, playing as a soldier class being quite easy I mean.
