Wish they had different shaped models for humans in this. Would love to see a variation in breast sizes

      I love this game.

It's like being gently massaged by J. Michael Straczynski, as Arthur C Clarke and George Lucas whisper sweet nothings in each of my ears.

Haha, that was actually the first question I asked Gerry Helemt when he started playing it on Thursday "Can you give a female character HH breast plates", hehe.

Absolutely loving this so far and I actually think the combat works really well. I agree it feels a bit weird being in an RPG game but once you get accustomed to the powers and using the wee weapon / power pause menu you can totally tear the battles up... and most of them have played out just like a Star Trek movie or episodes of Stargate (The good one) like the gun battles in 'First Contact' (IMO the best of the next generation movies). The characters look great in motion and the sound effects really bring it home, they are so Sci-Fi perfect with all the hums and zaps, its immense.

Absolutely LOVE Wrex character, his lines are superb and I can see him being my main companion but that may change as the game goes. I am trying to balance the upgrades so I have have specialists in each area and can deal with any situation well. Really like the stat measurement it gives you when you pick your squad, really helps you get what you want from a squad.

So 6 hours in and itd everything I wanted it to be. Great visuals, best use of sound effects for a long time, a nice rich story and a lovely battle system... cant complain... but if I had to, I would say some of the little technical issues with slowdown and complete pauses for catch up loading are annoying and should have been ironed out. I can live with these though and they never really cause a problem. When the core elements are of such a high standard these little "issues" can be forgiven.

Is there anyway to skip long elevator trips or is there loading probably going on there? Can be a bit annoying. I fell asleep during one last night.

You miss most of the side quests? I'm on my 9th hour and I've only been to 3 other planets

I've done a load of side quests however.

Yeah same, haven't even been looked into some of the side quests yet.

I agree with Wrex being an awesome character. I have him in my squad despite him not being the most suited to my group setup. His graphics seem way ahead of all the other characters, really strange but incredibly impressive.

They're used to hide the loading so you can't skip them.

I love the elevator musak though. Nice to know that even in the future there's room for crappy little dittys

I'm very tempted to nip up to Blockbuster to pick this up now.
However, I've got Bio Shock, Assassin's Creed and crackdown to start / finish.
                      Damn you all!

Now over 13.5 hours (since yesterday morning) and Level 25. Just finished the Moon Base mission. It got a little fraught at times with the number of enemies to kill. The Moon Base Mission was my third "off-Citadel" mission, so still plenty to check out, I have numerous missions/assignments on the go, so if the length of the ones I have already done are anything to go by there is a fair few hours play to go!. At the end of the Moon mission, my Infiltrator was given the option to be a Commando or Operative... chose the latter. I must say the Earth looked rather nice from the Lunar surface.

Finally figured the best way to kill off the bigger enemies. Especially as the Mako was not proving very helpful in that respect.

With my rapid levelling I was able to max out my decryption skills. I must admit to now saving before doing an decryption just so I can reload and try again (the gel is too easy to use up for this). Another advantage of all the levelling is that the money is coming in somewhat faster so bought Shepherd some decent Medium Armour.

I am also getting into the habit of saving whenever I clear an area. This proved useful on the moon base because the other two in the squad were "dead" pending regeneration. I went outside to save as there were still some enemies to dispose of and the other two regen'd outside rather handily.

I am still a little undecided on my favourite party make-up. At least I have all six characters to choose from. The woman from the first mission seems strong, but has a tendency to get herself killed. Tali (?) is somewhat better in that respect and at least has five shield bars.

                          First expressions are very weak.
Graphics are above average with constant frame rate issues and horrible texture pop up. Load times are long and the elevator scenes seem like they are joke.
Cut scenes are weakly directed and the pop up makes them look even worse.
Dialogue is childish and the characters look like they are made of wax.
Facial expressions are good but the characters lack any believable manners. They remind of characters in Spirits Within only far worse.
Plot is started amateurishly and it doesn't grab you in.
The first city is very boring to look at. I don't understand why they still have item boxes, while the game is trying to have a more realistic approach.
Gameplay in the shooting parts is so weak it's really surprising Bioware even went for that direction. There is no enemy AI to speak of, they just stand still or run straight at you. They don't react to shooting in any way, after you've shot them enough they just fall and die. Hit detection is non existent. They can take cover and you can see their heads, but you can’t shoot them, only the cover.
The cover system is bad because there isn't a button designated for that, it's annoying because your character takes cover all the time when there is something near.
If this game wouldn't have the hype and wasn't made by Bioware, everybody would recognise the faults easier and it wouldn't get so good reviews.
After all the good games this year it is really embarrassing title. I couldn't even think about showing this to professionals in literature and films to convince them that games can have high artistic values.

^ sorry, but I really don't agree with that.

                            1. Collision detection - weapons have accuracy, so not every bullet will hit. It's an RPG, not a straight out shooter, and it's implemented like this so you can upgrade it as you progress. I can easily headshot the enemies when they stand behind cover with just their heads exposed - maybe you need to try aiming? Remember that long section of a train, where you're at one end and the mobs right at the other? I headshot those mobs with a zoomed in pistol with no problems. And that was without putting any talent points into anything yet, as I wanted to see how the combat played first.
                            2. Enemy AI does seem pretty average so far, but it's not weak. They use cover, don't run blindly at you (except for the Husk mobs, but I think the clue is in the name).
                            3. Load times aren't long at all, and the elevator sequences are like that because it's loading the next level. Jak and Daxter used a similar method with the doors and I don't recall them getting flamed for it. In fact, I'm sure some of the reviewers were impressed with it. Yes, that was "last gen" but it's still better than a black loading screen.
                            4. Texture pop in is no worse than GoW, and it looks like it's a problem with the UR3 engine rather than with Biowares design. Same with the wax looking characters (though that only applies to humans imo, aliens are impressive), that's the engine.
                            5. Care to give any examples of childish dialogue? So far I've been impressed with it.

Only thing I can agree on are the boxes, but I can't think of a viable alternative, method of looting.

You need to inject a bit more venom into a rant if you want it to properly anger people.

I disagree with much of what you said though, particularly the dialogue which I think is truly superb, and the characters which look, in my opinion, excellent.

                                I disagree too, but hey.

Surprised how hard this game is, I'm getting destroyed doing one of the side missions (my second 'outing' if you like). Perhaps I've gone there too early but there is nothing to suggest it is of a high level. The mission is

rescue the hostage on board a ship, as soon as you attack someone you get a 3 minute target and I get swarmed and die! I've tried going in deep and hard 'n everything Ahh well, think I'll return later on

                                .

Liking the information about the planets, found a really interesting one which I'm sure will pop up again in the story somewhere. Bit of a shame so few are interactive though. When you do a scan and it comes back "you found a decaying cruser in orbit, your salvage team boarded the vessle but found nothing of interest" I can't help but feel it should have been me to found nothing of interest! I understand that would have been a rather huge undertaking though!
