Rock Band (360/PS3)

Aye even easy drums feels like playing for real doesnt it? It really knocks drummania into the stoneage. I noticed even the sticks have a branded logo on them now which they didnt on USA launch nice touch indeed.

Gameplaywise Drummania is the superior game for drummers but the Rock Band controller is far better than the standard Drummania one. If I had a DTX kit for Drummania I'd definitely play it more than Rock Band. My sticks had the Rock Band logo on them, are you sure your 1st pair is different?.

I had a go at all the euro tracks on expert drums earlier, all of them are a bit easy tbh, can't see The Cars album next week being much of a challenge either.

I'm a bit rubbish with this new guitar. I love the silent strumming, but I can't work out where my hand is on the frets when I start moving to orange, which was really easy on the Xplorer.

I was the same at first, you just need to start thinking about the feeling of the bumps on the green, yellow and orange buttons. It gets a bit easier after that.

No complaints about the strat's strum bar- i love it, much more natural than "CLACK CLACK CLACK" of Guitar hero's.

Got mine today. Haven't played it yet though, only just got back from the gym. Knackered as F***. I do love the build quality on these, especially the drums. Can't wait to get stuck in.

The build quality on mine is a little shocking. You can see daylight between the blue drum pad and rim. It seems to be ill placed. The blue outer ring is really wonky. Is there anyway of repositioning it without breaking it?!
It plays without a hitch, so I'm not too bothered.

Well after managing to become immune to Guitar Hero Hand, I now seem to have developed Rock Band Leg. Ouch!

Between Boom Blox messing up my arm and now this, I feel like I've taken a fall down the stairs.

Got a quick question, me and 3 mates have made our band, by making 3 extra profiles on my HDD, then making their characters for a set instrument, what is the easiest way however, if we wanted to swap around, as id like a go with my character on guitar now not drums and visa versa for my mate? Any ideas, as im having problems with this!!!

I currently don't like the strum bar on the strat. Its too soft for my liking. Im sure my opinions will change as soon as ive gotten use to it.

Your character is stuck with the one instrument you pick for them at the start. If you want to change, you have to make a new character. A bit rubbish, that, eh?

Absolutely loving this. The drums are awesome, great fun even they are hard to play, but damn do they make a racket. I'm starting to get used to the timing on medium but it's gonna take some practise.

Managed to get my sister to sing some tracks whilst me and her boyfriend played guitar and we couldn't tear ourselves away from it. The only thing I would say is whilst you can approach a track you've never heard of and make an attempt at it, trying to sing a song you've not encountered is something else. Especially if the game springs a german track on you

Anyone else find their Strat's motion sensor is quite poor? I really struggle to get it to register the overdrives unlike my GH3 guitar which registers the slightest tilt.

Overdrive on my Strat isn't just a case of a quick flick (oo-er) , I find I have to tilt it right up and hold it.

Takes a bit of getting used to. Then again so does playing some of the same tracks from GH3 where the note layout is different >_<

Anyone got any tips on dampening the sound as much as possible?

Sound seems to travel louder to the floor below than it is when I'm actually hitting the drums.

wow the drums are good, ordered some pad dampners though as they are a little noisy.

I'm also finding the guitar a little spongy and plasticky feeling, doesn't feel as solid as the wireless GH3 jobbie.

Hated game the first few goes as couldn't hit a note, had calibrated for my plasma as thought it was a good idea but turns out it wasn't, set to standard crt with no offset now and happily hitting lots of notes with mistakes my fault

The logo was on the US sticks, well some of the kits at least.

Yea m8 day one sticks their just plain. Sorry I meant the standard drummania controller with its arse leaf switch in a spounge not the gorgeous DTX, if RB had DTX support Id save up and buy one Ive really got into em on yes pap easy (I am in a wheelchair dont forget lol) Ive gone from never messing to doing every song 4 or 5 stars so far on first attempt and I know from GH1 that it took me a good week to get into easy on guitar just finding it easier. I keep going a bit mental at the freestyle bits though and clashing sticks heh. I love it and spent around 7000 points in total since Thursday that I dont have heh oops
