Got my delivery of the game this morning. Parcel farce don't deliver on a Saturday so I'll need to wait till Tuesday before I can go and pick it up at the depot....20 miles away Luckily it is on my way to work but just wish they wouldn't even bother trying to deliver it on Monday.

Anyway I've been playing pretty much all day with my GH3 guitar and love it. Finished the solo career on hard without failing a song and I'm onto expert now. Seems a lot easier than GH3 (Slayer track at the end ).
Only really annoying thing is that I promised myself I would never buy tracks as I hate the way games are going these days but there are so many great tracks to download I may snap.

Really can't wait to get the drums...oh and the singing too I suppose.

Hate the way games are going? Offering you more content to extend the life of your game? Terrible... lol

It's not like they're really expensive, 160 points (80 for some) each, that's like £1 a song near enough, not bad at all imo.

They used to give you content for free back in the good old days. Next they'll be wanting me to be buy virtual petrol/bullets.

They need to pay the license fees someway...

I suppose in terms of musical downloads like this it is true. Perhaps I'm just annoyed I can't afford to buy all the additional features of modern games.

Although as Synthesthesia says that they are only ?1 a track but there loads of them, then their are extra maps in other games which cost ?10...etc. It soon adds up, plus I've already spent ?40 on the game itself.

I can only see this getting worse. I believe GT5 was rumoured to be a game shell which you then purchased everything you wanted inside once you got home. I don't want that. That is what I meant about the way games are going. Perhaps slightly harsh for RB.

I don't mind paying for Rock Band tracks- but for things like Oblivion Horse Armour etc, i agree it's ridiculous, I'd like to see that gone too. But the sad truth is MS usually force the dev to charge for something even if they want it free (valve are fighting atm to get some maps on for free i think).

But yeah, more on topic, I don't think this is a case like Battlefield, where they were going to with hold something because you weren't paying more. The game comes with like 50 (ish?) tracks, maybe more. All of the ones they charge you for came out after the game did (a few tracks came out the day of release, but they will have been done after the game went gold most likely).

I played straight through drums career on Medium without even coming close to failing a song, but I'm finding Hard a bit of a jump now. It's mostly things like the fast double-bass kicks in In Bloom, with a hi-hat hit on the first but not the second (I always hit the second one too), or the occasional off-beat bass kicks.

I'm sure it'll come, but this feels like the equivalent point from Guitar Hero when you make that jump to Hard and can't believe for a minute you'll ever get the hang of moving your hand for the Orange.

Lol. I agree, I tried Go With the Flow on Band World tour on hard the other day and failed miserably. The bass pedal is all over on that song.

I went straight to hard for the dums because I thought it would be like that. I failed a few times but the learning curve is good enough to keep you going, if ever I got stuck I did some bonus track list songs and went back to paste career!

Currently at 50 songs down and it is getting very very hard though!

Got to the last song on Guitar Expert having done practically every other song on my first attempt and I just can't do it. Can't see my ever beating it to be honest, the last 20% of the song is rediculous

Got this earlier, only have the guitar at the moment, but playing it on hard and so far Ive managed to 5 star every song without even trying.

Is there any point when the diffculty steps up a, bit so far uit seems alot easier than GH3

I 5 starred everything first time on Hard, there's no doubt it's easier. Infact, Expert is easier than GH3 Hard in some ways, play Reptillia and you'll see what i mean. Still can't beat this final song, it's stupid

I've said it once or twice in this thread already but it's 5 gold stars you want to be aiming for in Rock Band. It's not the same as in Guitar Hero where you have to get 100% notes hit, you need to achieve a certain score for them to turn gold. Those looking for a proper challenge should be playing expert drums tbh or download Thrasher by Evile which has a harder guitar chart than all but TTFAF on Guitar Hero 3.

Overall guitar in Rock Band is definitely easier than GH 3 but the difficulty in GH3 often comes from badly charted songs, 3's & 7's immediately springs to mind. I still really like both but I much prefer guitar in Rock Band.

I finished the Expert guitar tour yesterday, failed GGATHT 1st try, got it the 2nd. That song must be 80% solo, lol.

And to be fair, Reptillia on GH3 is absolutely **** IMO, but I really love playing it on Rock Band. It just flows a lot nicer.

Oh, and regarding 3's and 7's in GH3, I actually really liked that chart, even if it is weird.

Been playing more Hard drums today, can't see myself being able to beat Go With the Flow on Hard, the bass pedal is just too difficult. Lots of practice I guess.

Maybe one day I will be able to play as good as this
