I might just buy it with the drums first and then use my GH2 guitar with it, and get the RB guitar later but it's much more expensive doing it that way isn't it?

My original plan was to order the game, figuring I could just use my GH2 guitar and play the songs I liked on it. Then thought, nah, I want to drum, I'll just get the drums. Then realised that for £30 more than the drums you can just get the BiaB with a guitar and microphone too. And I ended up with the whole lot.

The Rock Band guitar is brilliant though, it does mean however that I can't play Guitar Hero anymore, because going back to the Xplorer is not easy.

I really dont like the RB guitar.

Its good, but feels plasticy compared to the GH2/GH3 models, though admittedly the larger size and extra solo frets does make it feel better. I just went with the GH3 models as I already had two and as they're wireless you can play 4 player without the need for the USB hub plugging the drums and mic into the front of the 360.

Either way getting the drums is a must with this however which way you slice it for the guitars.

Yeh its a huge investment price wise, particularly when you include the DLC on top... but its really worth it. At least with the extra songs to download you're getting 4 ways to play them instead of just one with GH3 and most if not all are good on one or more instruments.

It was my birthday on tuesday and all I asked for was MS points cards to download more tracks. Got the pixies album and the who one will be bought as well. Im currently at 175 songs and counting, played about 150 of them on guitar hard so far and about 50 on drums starting on medium.

Right you have convinced me to get it, I just need to put some money aside over the next month or so as I've spent quite alot recently. Considering I do still play GH2 and 3 all the time, mainly 2 as I want to 5 star that on Hard and finish it on Expert, I will 100% get my moneys worth out of this. I think I'll try one of my mates RB guitars though first incase I don't like it either!

My neighbours hate me enough with the noise I make just now so it'll be the final nail in the coffin of our friendship when I get the drums for this.

I suppose the value of this game is the way that it brings people together. I have had a number of evenings where a few of us have just played away for about 5-6 hours straight. How many other games could you do that with? Plus, some of my non-gaming friends love it. For example, one of my mates came round to laugh at us all one evening before heading home. In the end, she stayed til one in the morning, singing a load of songs with us. And my girlfriend came round and played on the drums for about four hours, with her daughter singing on the mic! There aren't many games that bring people together like this and it seems that anyone who plays it, be it gamer or non-gamer, absolutely loves it.

Absolutely. It's a game I can play with my seven year old daughter and we can both enjoy. We have a band set up that she named and she loves her avatar. At first I thought she would fail at singing even on easy as she doesn't know any of the songs, but she's been great.

She 100% My Sharona the other day. It made her day completely .

If they can get some more lighter rock stuff in such as like The Feeling and Orson, this is going to turn into the best game this gen fullstop. The song lineup just on the disc blows even the original Guitar Hero's lineup (which I thought would probably never happen) and thats before the fact that the download content is so well supported, and contains even more utter ownage tunes

Activision are really going to have to hope Neversoft pull something extremely special out of the bag for Guitar Hero otherwise I think Guitar Hero 2 will be the last Guitar Hero game I buy.

Already love it to bits. Just gutted about RB2 being 360 exclusive in september, guess I'll just have to splash out on some more PS3 download content

I will tell you now that this game has been the best money i've ever spent! Got it on launch day and this is the first time i've posted about it. Its brilliant. Getting 6 mates round and taking it in turns on world tour mode is just too brilliant to describe.
Rock Band 2 will be mine and if Megadeth are on it then all the better!

I haven't bought any other game since getting Rockband, haven't touched GTA4 since either. It's pretty much the best game I've ever played..so yeah, I'd recommend it

I'm about half way down on Hard Drums now, as with Guitar Hero I feel that I'm getting better with every song I play. Really enjoying it and can't wait to be able to play on expert! About half way down on Expert Guitar and it hasn't been so tough, only song I can't finish is Green Grass - the second solo is just insane!

That song is such an endurance test on drums, 11 minutes or something crazy. I've not made the step up to expert drums yet. I want to make sure I'm comfortable with every song first .... yeah wimp

only thing i'd say is to see if you can have a look at the guitar first, I far prefer my GH3 wireless so could save a few quid.

the outlaws song is mental, even on easy drums its an endurance test, really like the tune though.
