Loving this game more every day. Had a mammoth 8 hour session with 2 mates the other night and it was brilliant.
Just got a mic stand today for guitar + singing. Expert guitar and expert singing is where its at. Only problem is when you get the tapping sections on the mic but the game doesn't seem to punish you for missing them out.

yeah its so so good. i nabbed a mic stand from work for a 12 people 8 hr rock out the other weekend. it was pretty amazing until we hit a six song setlist which comprised of mostly 'impossible' tracks. we refused to be beaten and played that who song 3 times till we nailed it (and had to substitute the guy who was on bass for not pulling his weight heheh). the more casual players in the group looked a bit bored heheheLast edited by rossman; 19-06-2008, 16:21.Comment

Hmm never considered getting a mic stand but that sounds like a right laugh.
With the tapping sections I believe you can just make any sound down the mic to register it.Comment

Yay finished hard drum tour, Iron maiden was the real killer but it helped knowing the song really well. That's generally true for all the songs, much easier if you know the song!Comment

IMHO opinion GH:WT simply can't live up to the Rock Band experience.
Harmonix were the brains behind the whole concept in the West and they are the only safe choice to ensure you actually enjoy playing the note charts.
Activision are slowly milking GH into an early grave, Rock Band 2 and the brilliant DLC support of Rock Band will be the way forward for this type of peripheral based fun fest.Comment

I think Guitar Hero:World Tour will be just as fun but if Activision/Neversoft continue with the same model as previous versions with regards to DLC then Rock Band will remain the better game. There's also the matter of Rock Band 2 to take into consideration which will be even better than the first I'm sure.
Next week will be a tad expensive on the Rock Band DLC front, not only is the entire Doolittle album going up but there's also a pack of Weezer songs off their new album going up on the same day which inlcudes Dreamin, The Greatest Man That Ever Lived and Troublemaker.
This weeks DLC was solid as well, Afterlife by Avenged Sevenfold has the most difficult guitar solo in the game so far wich will give the folks that moan about easy charts in Rock Band something to be happy about and Hammerhead by The Offspring is just a great ****ing track allround.Comment
