Well do the PS2 Singstar USB mics work with this? If so I was considering just buying the drums and game. But I would like two guitars so I can rock out in style and if the mic doesn't work then I'll need one of them too for some secret singing when no-one's around!

Where's the best place to buy? Still can't find it for less than £140?

I think they work but I can check. I have the PS3 USB mics so they should be the same. From my understanding they work but because the dongle splits for the two mics you can do the tapping sections for the tambourine. I'll check for you anyway.

I came on last night after an afternoon out with the girlfriend to a surprise birthday party in my honour. Scared the **** out of me (didnt have a clue) but it basically ended up being 20 of my best mates all getting used to Rock Band for the first time. Many hadnt even played guitar hero before so complete novices at it.

What a laugh... I think we wrapped up about 2.30am with the crowning moment being the entire room singing along to Wanted Dead or Alive. Strangely all of the girls wanted to get on the drums but the guys wanted to sing some of the classic rock... Boston went down well for that matter.

Agree it needs a far more diverse range of song to deliver variety in a party session. Most people skim over the more technical songs for the better melodies. I think the top songs of the night were easily Creep, My Sharona, All the Small Things etc...

      Class laugh mind.

Good lord, congrats man that song is a beast. Never tried it on guitar but it's a pure endurance song on the drums.

But it's tiny! can see why some people prefer the clickety clack of the GH guitars though,

Worse thing is that the first 80% of the song is pretty easy. I was getting 95% almost every time and on a song that long its totally soul destroying.

Only need to do it once more on expert in the band world tour endless setlist but it should be fairly easy with other band members to bring me back to life at the end.

On that note, if I play expert and my mates play normal do I get the platinum achievement and they all get normal or is it base difficulty for all?

Oh quick edit, my bass pedal snapped in two. I've read in the rock band forum that you can quite easily get a replacement on broken kit but does that include the pedal snapping? If not can I get another one, or a better one, from anywhere?

but the strummer works and the buttons feel vastly superior and the whole thing doesn't twist and flex.

to be honest was really disappointed by the Rock Band guitar, its a piece of **** and not even as good as the first wired GH guitars on PS2 in my opinion.

                  Demon.

Yeh I broked my bass pedal last week and got a metal billet replacement on ebay. It came with its own hinge which is basically a very strong flexible plastic piece which flexes and it feels very sturdy underfoot.

Just search on ebay for rock band pedal and you'll find a few people selling them. You can then junk the snapped piece altogether.

rock band guitar is better than gh ones but very flimsy. snapped the neck on mine by just having someone half sit on it.

need to get a soldering iron and some glue now...

Only problem is that mine didn't break at the hinge, mine has snapped above the hole for the spring. I think I'll try and get a replacement from EA first and then upgrade the new one.

The one I have screws onto the plastic foot pedal so it would join the two halves back together and re-inforce them. Should work in your case as well.

Heres the link of the auction I won anyway: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....MEWN:IT&ih=020

                          I got one of these.

Replaces the whole of the pedal plate. It's nearly an inch thick so no chance of snapping this bugger.

Been looking at that. Only thing thats putting me off is that the website looks like its two kids putting them together in their shed.

I think that's the level of these 3rd party replacements at the moment! At least they're not made by Mad Catz.
