some new DLC up, highlight for me is the Scars on Broadway (half of SOAD) track They Say. Its a fairly thugish simple song but quite satisfying to play.

this really is a whole new ball game for dlc with fresh stuff every week, especially when its tied in with album releases as in this case.

good work, long may it continue.

double SOAD next week, BYOB & Toxicity, both will give the drum set a good workout, also some motley crue but couldn't give a toss for that.

Looking forward to SOAD will get both songs, as you said the drums will be good really can't wait to try the little fill bits in Toxicity.

Damn, the BYOB gutiar intro is going to be insane! Good luck to the singers too

            (and drummers, of course)

Played this a bit today, started the Hard tour on Drums and it's absolutely mental. So hard and so tiring! It was such a workout, finished off after an hour or so by playing Rock n Roll Star which is like 5-6 minutes long, was sooo exhausting.

              But great fun!

And all these offbeat pedal notes are killer, I just can't get them.

just grabbed the SOAD tracks and I'm so disappointed, I'd listened to the songs on way home as was really looking forward to them.

just tried both on medium guitar and they just don't work (can't comment on drums yet), the originals are very fast fast paced and you just don't feel like you are playing along, the note patterns feel wrong and you are only playing one note in 5 or 6. Add to that the songs feel like a really weedy mix and they've ripped all the guts out them, its not my system as it sounds great normally, these 2 just sound really tinny.

I am really disappointed, thought they were going to be great but just didn't work for me.

Like I say can't comment on drums yet but with the fast paced nature could be the same issue again.

Surely when playing medium you expect missed notes.

I'm playing expert drums and both are pretty hard, still not finished either yet although got to 90% on Toxicity and lost my rhythm.

If you look at the expert chart you can see it's pretty damn quick.

As a guitarist who can play both songs I reckon the charts are a pretty decent representation of the song. (That's expert though, not medium)

Sorry but you can't play on medium difficulty and expect the note charts to be representative of how the song is supposed to be played, you really need to play on Expert to fully appreciate these kind of games.

That's hardly fair. Telling someone they can't appreciate the game just because they're not as good is you is rubbish.

I can see where he's coming from though, if you wanted to play it to fully represent the speed of the song you'd have to play it on expert.

I mean no disrespect to anyone who doesn't play it on expert but that's where your going to get note charts that really relate to what you would expect it to be like if it was being played on a guitar with only 5 frets.

I'm more worried about the quality of the sound, I will check out the preview when it hits the uk store come thursday

That's not what I'm saying though, of course you can enjoy it on any difficulty but you can't complain about the note chart not representing the way a song should be played if you're playing on medium as many notes are missed out to make things easier, you only play every note when you play on expert difficulty hence why it feels closer to playing the real thing, well as about as close as you can with 5 buttons and a plastic strum bar.

my point is that there are fast songs on medium you feel very connected to. for example Hand That Feeds and the Pig related NIN tracks are personal faves of mine and feel great. Also I love the riff on Snow by the chilis, a difficult song even on medium but it feels right.

maybe its something more than just the speed but these 2 SOAD songs feel wrong to me in a way nothing else really has on the game. The enjoyment and feel of playing the songs, even on the spaz skill level of medium, is the major benefit to this over guitar hero 3 for me, these 2 feel like gh3 note charts.

its making me think there is more to content in this game than just picking cool songs. I've always heard the complexity and skillful playing in SOAD, maybe this translates badly (to me) for Rock Band.

sound quality is lousy though and some of the guitars have deffo been re-recorded poorly.

maybe the problem is I love SOAD and know them both inside out, they highlight a problem on medium I've not felt in the game to date though, and I've cleared thru the medium level on 5* rating.

I am working on next level up but just can't make that 5th fret click yet, suspect BYOB isn't the song to do that !

Just previewed the SOAD tracks and they've taken the raw aggression out of the songs, BYOB especially.

Just sounds like a really bad quality rip. No purchase... yet
