I've been informed that if you shoot the roaming Goombas they cough up mushrooms and other useful items during the race... something to test and try out?
As for the TT competition, I'd be coming in a bit late and I've not done any TTing so far, been too busy playing online. This tourny is the first attempt as such to do it and I haven't yet unlocked what appear to be the quickest vehicles...Lie with passion and be forever damned...

This arrived last week but could only start playing it last night. Had a big seesion with the intention of earning the Gold Wii wheel but it hasn't changed just yet, I should probably do some more research into how to get it.
Swept through the 50cc cups and moved onto the 100cc bike adventure. Having a bit more trouble with these, but i think it's just me getting used to the Wheel. Another crack tonight methinks!

Can anyone with an imported version (preferably JPN) confirm whether you play against Japanese players only in the regional online race? I'm wondering if you get IP blocked from joining JPN races if your IP doesn't originate from Japan (or the country which the software is region coded to)
Thanks.

Your region is based on your game region and location is set by what's recorded by your Wii console settings - so I am shown to be in Japan when online, and get Japanese rankings for the regional TT rankings on my JPN Wii/MK. Haven't tried regional race but you'd race JPN-only opponents as well (or other JPN-version importers).
Is there any reason to do regional rather than global races? I haven't played online very much but have just done global races and pretty much all my opponents have been European with a few from the US (although they could perhaps be US-version importers like Mayhem) and the connection has been great.

Playing for my second night tonight and i've now got gold on all 50cc and new 100cc cups. Now I just need to get golds on the retro 100ccs and it's onto the 150ccs.
I have 100% wii wheel usage and been on the postive end of 70 online races, does anyone know how much further i have to go to earn the coveted golden wheel?
