They're likely doing the exploit where you complete one lap in a TT, then stop and face the opposite direction.

Apparently Nintendo are removing the times of people found to have done this from the rankings though.

how come nobody online seems to be racing with their Mii characters, i opened mine up last night and been racing with him ever since : )

I managed one race online last night and there was a Mii in it. I've not unlocked that feature yet myself.

How does Toad handle? He is my choice in MK games generally, anyone else have a sodt spot for the old mushroom head?

Also when I finally get it should i spend some time single player first to unlock stuff, or can things be unlocked online too?

I've always liked Toad as well, a good all-rounder, decent acceleration, not bad top speed and handles almost as well as the lightweights. Finding he's a bit too "lightweight" in this version though, gets knocked about far too easily for my liking. Will always have a softsport for the fella due to the previous games

On a side note I long for the day he becomes a brawl character!

Back on topic, i like the way he has handled in the past. Getting bumped around does annoy me too, I know I switched to a heavyweight on the DS when I was trying for double star ratings on Rainbow road...

Do the Grand Prix modes offer star rankings like the DS games, or is it the bog standard bronze silver and gold rankings?

They are, not managed any myself yet and I think you get them by total time taken to complete the GP.

Stars go from 3 to 1 then A to I think D. You get goodies for getting all 3 stars on 50cc/100 and 150cc in each category which seems damn hard. You also get em for 1star in same again. Since i did TT tracks I went back on first gp on 50cc last night and went from my old B to 2stars and that wasnt easy. Basically months of gameplay their to nail em.

Just bought the game but can't play it ): I have a japanese Wii and bought the PAL version, I have a japanese freeloader and it plays it fine but the problem is the game plays in the NTSC Tv format and so I get the game zoomed in and black and white. I can't find anyway to force the game or console to play 60hz, I know on gamecube you could hold in B but I don't know if there's anything I can do with the wii. In the system settings there's no option either.

Any ideas?

It seems whilst you can play stuff you haven't unlocked online, you can't choose it yourself. In other words if you haven't unlocked a certain track you won't be able to choose it but if someone else does than it lets you play it.

My wireless routers got struck by lightning today so no online fun till I can get it sorted Are the Lan Wii adaptors any good for wired ones as seems to be my only alternative unless I want to fork around £70 for another wireless one?
