i am about 4 hours in to the game and loving it so much am still on the ACT 1 but i don't care

Just found this video about some of the weapons in the game. It may contain spoilers as there are some in there which are just a bit mad.

One of them isn't even a secret from the screenshot of the vid. Its the Tanegashima Rifle which you can buy from Drebin, you need some major bling for it. I want it bad, it looks awesome.

Someone asked if you can side with the PMC's: you can't. Their nanomachines prevent them from seeing you as a friend.


I'm now at the Drum Can part on Big boss extreme. I've overcome some of the issues with the gameplay I had on my first playthrough. I generally stopped even trying to hold up an enemy. I play without auto-aim, and it feels like its pretty random to succeed.

I am on my way to unlocking that now. You have complete the game with 25 or less alerts plus defeat 50 enemies via the knife (kill or stun) and defeat 50 enemies using CQC.

at the end, Big Boss dies by flamethrower, burns to a crisp then explodes into nothing. I really don't understand how he was resurrected for MGS4.

Well MG2 is very old now, I don't think Kojima would think that far ahead of course but I was thinking more about MGS2 and mostly MGS3 since

MGS4's plot takes a lot from MGS3 to tie up the story.

Just wonder if he already had the broad outlines in mind when making that or if he just started thinking how to tie everything up when starting on 4.

Didn't he say that his body was rebuilt from from other bits? The "corpse" of Big Boss was only half there and was burnt to a crisp, perhaps he was meant to of been rebuilt from that kind of state

Tempted to try for this one now that I have stealth camo, would be possible on the same run as a no-kill effort i think. That's assuming you can just knock out the CQC people.

I was about to point out that that's a little far fetched. But then this is Metal Gear we're talking about.

Hmm, it didn't with mine. It said that it couldn't find any save data (UK save on US PS3).

I finished it anyway. The whole end sequence was fantastic, and I thought the

was a wonderful way to end it. Understated, with great music, brilliant lighting, and nostalgic. The ending itself obviously went on and on - I made it 1 hour 15 mins or so - but it did a good job of wrapping up pretty much everything. How bloody long did
