Only got 2 achievements to get now (Smile and Rebound) for 200/200.
Will be playing this one for a while though and trying to max out each score for each game mode, also seeing other peoples scores to beat to

Main difference between Geo Wars Galaxies (Wii) and this would be the Galaxies Mode probably has more Levels to play through BUT Geo Wars 2 has more Modes with different styles to play through. All modes listed on page 1, suppose Deadline mode is like a mini version of Galaxies, with 20 different levels.

Also Geo Wars 2 has local co-operative and competitive multiplayer modes for 4 players and a co-pilot mode too, one person flies the other shoots.

I need this game after this thread is saturated with positive posts, but I have to wait 'till Saturday when I can get a points card.

I was never great at GW but the new game modes really appeal to me. Is it quite easy to unlock the new modes? As I fear my lack of skill may effect how quickly I unlock them.

Nah they're all unlocked rather quickly and it tells you how close you are to unlocking each one. I think it's just score and number of goes etc.

Well what can I say about this one other than give it some loving

1 I dunno why I never got into it really. Liked it but didnt play it that much and it felt great for score attack but a "live game" ie not much too it but understandable as it was cheap. I was also crap at it

Got the Wii version cheap and really liked the new concept and got into that a fair bit but still didnt grab us.

Didnt even know Geo wars 2 was coming out till yesterday and have to admit that reading about it with no online and no worlds like the Wii version etc.. I thought thanks but no thanks. Anyway 3am this morning I still couldnt get to sleep with the heat and being ill so I shoved 360 on for first time in few days and messed with pacmanCE (my chillout game). Downloaded the video of Geo wars and trial at same time then had a look at em.

Video looked good but not spectacular (funny how the video is bigger than the game!). Didnt think I would like it as not a fan of 3mins unlimited lives on paper concept (dont mind as a concept 3mins with x amount of lives) how wrong I was. Then tried the trial. End of first go I went to bank account did my sums and bought it

Proper 1080p and addictive as hell. I didnt think even the 3min mode would work on paper (ie infinite lives so I thought meh bit wanky) but even that works. My fav mode is the waves modes at moment and I was hooked on that till 5am.

Im still abit miffed its got no online battle modes and its not got say a 100% 1player structure like Geo Wars Wii had but its about score attack anyway I guess. For that it works well and Id say its up their with Rez, Ikaruga, Pacman CE and POP as best game on live. Well worth the more expensive 800 points and for me Im surpised to say that. Im still crap at it but now Im enjoying being crap at it and seeing my friends scores after each go. Music is lovely as well. I woke up yesterday with sad face with my PS3 breaking I went to sleep at 5am very happy due to this game.

Unlocking is very quick just play the first mode 3-4 times and it % unlocks the next one then go play that one same and so on. Took me about 15mins to unlock the lot.

No online didn't suprise me, the tiniest bit of latency would result in instant death. I don't think anyone would have a decent enough connection to a bizzillion enemies either.

They could have done all sorts with the online portion though didnt have to be just playing on same screen via live could have been a versus score attack at same time or who lasts the longest and so on or all sorts. I dont think the latency would be much of an issue either if they wanted to do proper 2 crafts on screen as its patterns what are on your screen and tiny code sent back and forth, if VF5 can do it this can. Its less of an issue after playing it than it was before though as its that good.

They aren't preset patterns though, they are individually AI controlled entities, each one of which would require location/orientation/velocity data to reach the other machine just so the other player could see the same thing. It's a bit different to the button inputs of 2 players fighting each other.

But its still simple routines theirs nothing being sent that could have serious impact on your connection speeds other than the small code of where they are on the screen so its doesnt have to send reems of data up and down yes theirs plenty going on but its not huge code. Theirs plenty of ways for them to have done it could have been done and even if had to forced to something like wave mode. The game doesnt have to put up with something like VF5 where even a few frames out of 60 makes the difference with input so theirs more scope. They always said VF would be impossible due to it and that managed fine so as I said before if that can have online their is really no excuse for this to have the same especially as where getting plenty of other live shootemps with it in. Plenty of commercial full price games cope with much more happening and have multiplayer support as well let alone the live stuff in all sorts of genres. I just think its a cop out not to include it. Again less of an issue after playing but its something I expected to be in with the sequel. Im glad Ive played it because like some others I was under the same banner of no online play no sale until I tried it.

Anyway back to the game, was playing it last night and for ages when the barriers came up I would shoot at em and bounce off for extra points but didnt know how to get rid of em apart from a smart bomb. Wasnt until later I twigged I couldnt actually run thru them like the later mode (thought that was that mode tied to only lol).

No-one ever said Virtua Fighter 5 would be impossible, DOA Ultimate had done 1 on 1 fighting perfectly well several years before and DOA4 did it even better long before VF4. It was only the Hardcore that complained it would be unplayable.

Name 1 game that has online that has more things going on (on screen) that features online play.

This is the same reason that Games like Dynasty Warriors, N3 and Dead Rising don't feature co-op.
