Completely agree Chopman, the introduction of that enemy is incredibly poor design.

If it's any help they go down in two of the big grenades (can't remember their name...) or two or three headshots. You can actually 'glitch' them sometimes so they can't see you, but you can still see part of their body, and no matter how many times you shoot they won't react.

Good luck with the mission, I can imagine it was hell on Expert! Good luck with mission six too

I agree with fishbowlhead that bosses should keep out of first person shooters too. Halo's 'very bad situation' was far more enjoyable!

      Sonofabitch!!!

I wish i knew about the Nazi bullet sponge before i bought into this, it's True Crime's dragon all over again. I hope it's not that bad when i reach it, WW2 games demand realism

As it stands, i'm loving this so far, just taking down the officers in the first mission

Hows the multiplayer guys? Not tried it yet...

UPDATE - If you quit out of the game and then go to Continue, it will load your game at the last checkpoint with full health.

So I managed to kill him by peeking out of cover when he stops firing and then emptying a STG .44 clip into him. This takes him out and then I scrambled for cover before taking out the remaining enemies. This method always lost me health so there is no way I could have done it without quitting out.

Fortunately you get rewarded because Mission 6 is one of the most impressive levels I have ever seen. I'm not finding it too difficult either.

So I'm back on the MOH evangelist tack.

        BUY IT!

Fishbowlhead - unfortunately that class doesn't exist. However, the rule I use is that if you have human enemies, you can't have a human boss that soaks up damage. They make no sense and are just lazy. Stick that character in a tank if you need a boss fight.

Or, and this is the route I try to take, make the last level the boss and not the final fight. Call of Duty 2 didn't have a traditional boss fight but finishing the last level was a real triumph. Prince of Persia Sands of Time's Visier wasn't the boss of the game, the last level was. Boss battles aren't suitable for a lot of games now but designers still put them in as they hang on to archaic tradition.

Pookmunki - I really enjoyed the mutliplayer, parachuting in and kicking some guy in the face is awesome.

Thanks for answering my question chopemom, good to see some common sense in designing, keep it up eh. Don't want no riff raff developers on these boards

Did anyone play Medal of Honor Underground?

The last level saw you breaking into a German castle that was guarded by dogs that walked on two legs, carried guns and drove tanks. You had to find all the pieces of a robot soldier that would help you blow your way out of there.

There has been nothing else in a game that has come close the the WTF moment of that.

sure, it's best game of the series in my opinion and comes close to Return to Castle Wolfenstein in terms of weirdness!

so is this game any better than my last MoH purchase: Frontline on PS2?

Frontline is 'classic' Medal of Honor. This is more of a reimagining.

Same kind of gunplay but the level design is totally different.

                    Just finished it on Expert.

The last mission looks amazing and is pretty enjoyable except for the last five minutes which for some bizarre reason turned into Quake 4.

Off I go through Easy and Normal now for the achievements

I've just started the second level, and finding it ok so far. I hope all the missions aren't 'Destroy the big guns by placing explosives in the glowing red box' because that could get boring quickly.

What control method are you using? I changed it from default to controller layout 2, but I'm still having a bit of a 'mare.

Did anybody else find that when you are parachuting down, the pop up was quite bad? Perhaps pop-up is the wrong term, it's like when you get close to a building, suddenly all the windows and brick detail will apear out of nowhere. Or is my 360 on the way out again?

Nope, it's Unreal 3 hence it has pop-in.

I could have posted that! Exactly my thoughts!

Go to AA gun, press A.

                          Horray for "Pushing the envalope"

So far, an OK game but nothing to shout from the hills about.

Lets hope the second mission gets better.

It does get better, alot infact. Mission 5 inparticular is one of the best missions i've played in a FPS in ages. Although you will be welcomed to the....can't find spoilers..you'll see.

I'm really not enjoying this very much.

My CPU team mates are so **** it's unbeliveable. They will all crouch down about 200 yards away out of the action, waiting for me to go on ahead and clear out all the enemy and plant the explosives.

As soon as the objective is complete they will jog up to me and act like they helped

Also it seems like every single enemy will always aim for me, no matter how many other guys are around. This is very obvious when you encounter a tank.

The fact that you can land anywhere in the game is a bit pointless unless you fancy trying to win the war single handed, as your team mates will land in a safe zone, and just hang around waiting for you to go and collect them. If they would try and advance to the next objective, so you could land ahead and help clear the path it would be great, but they don't.

                                Medal of Honor Airborne

new first play of this? well, i got this cheap from Play and just arrived at the second last mission. my verdict so far: a decent and enjoyable WW2 shooter if you can look past a few issues (e.g. endless spawning of enemies, unbalanced difficulty), and don't expect anything innovative. it's also most certainly one of the better MOH games of the past years.

my main reason to start this thread is the UK-version i got from Play is censored (all Nazi symbols are replaced). does anyone know if there's an uncensored PAL version, maybe from Australia?
