the zebra stripe jeep is unlocked by uploading photos in the online mode on the japanese version. (although you still have to buy it) not sure if its even available for the asian one.

Don't think you can get that paint job in the asian version then as theres no way of uploading photos online, it's greyed out on the title screen.

I suppose we just hope that the rumoured Chinese/English version gets a release sometime.

Yeah, that's carefully worded though. Still not an outright denial.

That's exactly what I mean and they may just be waiting to announce it anyway. Not really sure if this would be the sort of announcement that they'd consider to be worth anything other than a standard notification to retailers though.

Maybe we'll end up with a download only version to at least reduce the distribution costs for Sony?

Hope so. The fact that I have access to several games as soon as I switch my PS3 on is great - I'm a total convert to downloadable games for all but the big retail releases (I think any more than the 3GB required for Burnout is probably pushing it too far at the moment).

I've just ordered this on the strength of this thread. Should have it for the weekend as I've ordered from a UK seller

It's obviously been answered already, but i figured i would ask again as i'm really interested in this after seeing some of the photos on the previous page. Also the talk on 1upYours makes it sound like a hoot.

So how does the gameplay breakdown then, you just take photos and thats it? Or is it like Endless Ocean, where you live on a boat and get e-mails and such? The thing is if its like the latter, then its going to be in japanese and frustrate me.

So can anyone clear this up for me please?

As far as I understood, it's at least something like Endless Ocean. Boat=base camp, and you still get emails asking you to go out and take pictures of specific animals. The language barrier is why people have been using GameFAQs to work out precisely what they're supposed to be tracking down and where it is.

I'll think i'll give this a miss till the asian english version shows up, i'm in no rush. Thanks for the reply.

Me, too, probably, if the rumours are true. I was originally going to take the plunge with the Japanese version (I've got a pretty high tolerance for trial and error and/or using GameFAQs), but I can stand owning Hakuna Matata instead of Afrika if it's actually in a language I can understand.

the actual emails (the most complicated part of the game) are still in Japanese though aren't they? I thought Hakuna Matata (what I've ordered) just included a piece of paper with English controls...

missions come in as emails, but they (almost) always have an accompanying video of the animal you need to capture.(i dont think many of them actually tell you where to go, thats for you to figure out) its really not that complicated. i only had to ask on gamefaqs for a couple of the 100 odd missions. if you've read this thread you'll already know a few little bits that caught some of us out.

main menus are all in english, i believe hakuna matata only has one page of english in the instructions that have the basic controls on. you can find this easily enough anyway.

Sorry, should have clarified - what Zero9X said. There are rumours - and now possible screens - of a new Asian version, in English, out some time in December.
