Had a few quid spare from the day out on saturday so I snagged this from Morrisons on Sunday for £25.

Again, absolutely hooked on this and now with the challenge system it seems to have a direction to help players keep interest.

    Top job!

      Man, I'm enjoying this loads.

Love how you're constantly rewarded with new animations and designs. Just got me a Sherbat last night, they're awesome. There's a really satisfying logic to attracting new Pinata too.

On the downside, it can get a little frustrating the further in you get. Pestering Pete (or whatever his name is) showed up for the first time last night. He's a right douche...killed both my honey making Buzzlegum's and my beloved Sherbat in just one sitting. He also pointed at me and laughed. Anyone know a good way of getting rid of him?

        There are a couple methods.

        1. Get to him as soon as he enters your garden, select him and give him 500 coins.
        2. Get a decoy pinata from Costalot

        3. My prefered one...build a brick wall enclosure at the point he always enters the garden

The wall seems to stop him as he just stands there either seemingly laughing that you've managed to beat him, just looking confused, or occasionally he jumps up and does a "grrrrrr" animation as shown here...

The wall works without fail in my main garden, but hasn't always stopped him in others. So, if you do try it, I'd recommend keeping an eye on him for awhile to make sure it's working before you start ignoring him.

          Absolutely grand, cheers!

Just had a couple of hours on it, he seems to go for my prize Pinata every time so those tips will help loads.

          Ace game!

Also, if you've got 11k spare, I'd recommend buying the Captain's Cutlass from Costalots to stop the Ruffians coming in too. Then all you've got to deal with are the Sours and they're fairly easy to tame. After that you can stop worrying about losing pinata and relax!

Another, and in my opinion the best method, of dealing with Pestering Pete is to get a mine going with a couple of hired diggalings, eventually they'll excavate an egg which, if you have a cluckles sits on it, will hatch into a dragon and attack Pestering Pete and have him running from your garden with his arse on fire.

Awesome. Just unlocked the mine last night and bought it along with a Diggaling. Guessing it'll be a while before I find a dragon egg though. Also, built the wall to stop him, which does the job fine, though he did mysteriously bypass it once when I wasn't looking.

                Damn you, Pestering Pete.

Sorry to bombard this thread with dumb questions but does anyone know how to turn Sparrowmint's in to Canarie's? I know you have to feed them something yellow, but I've tried everything the shop has with no joy. Also, how do I turn Tafflies in to a fire based variant?

Still loving this game, Rare's best I think. But it's amazing how much time it sucks up, it's certainly not one for a 'quick blast'.

For details on evolving and variants, have a look here.

I'm slowly working my way through the Master Romancer awards for each species and once I've got six of something, I like to try and get twin wildcards when completing the final level of the maze. This isn't such a good idea when it comes to elephanilla's though - eight of them wandering around trampling things and farting all the time isn't good for any other pinata in the garden. Had some very unhappy pinata last night

I'm still surprised by how easy it is to lose track of time when playing this and how easily things can go out of control - lose sight of weeds for a couple of minutes and they can cause chaos.

I feel like breaking the game disc in half at the moment....I think the weed implementation is completely absurd, after spending quite a while building up the pinatas in a structured way I've just lost *all* of them due to a weed. This one just spread like a rash which knocked all the pinatas out and then the death guy came and killed them. I couldn't stop the weeds as every one I destroyed was almost immediately replaced by three more and even hiring the weeder did sod all.

Am I missing something really obvious here? It seems completely wrong that the game will allow you to put so much time into it and then just destroy it all giving you no chance to save it. It looks like it's not only all my pinatas I've lost but the entire garden as well as the weeds are spreading so rapidly they're going to have taken most of it over within the next ten minutes.

                    Not impressed.

Edit - It was worse than I thought, I did lose every single pinata (aside froma whirlm that came back), I lost the garden as ruffians were trashing what didn't have weeds and I also lost my money by hiring the weeders which was futile. I can't believe they put this in the game, having to start from scratch after putting a good few hours into the game is a total joke, I'm just trying to decide whether I can be bothered playing any further due to such cheap gameplay mechanics to 'extend' the life of the game.

You know when you knock a weed out it spouts 3 seeds which you have to destroy before the plant.
I had the same thing happen but got control of it eventually, had to do it a weed at a time. When you destroy one weed plant, destroy the 3 seeds instantly, should only take 1-2 hits in seed form.
Even if they plant though they should give you a wee bit of time (bout 10secs) to destroy before they are fully grown.
Also weedlings you have to direct them to the weed you want them to destroy, you still have to destroy the seeds though.

The other way is to put water around the weeds then smack them. Most of the seeds should then just sit in the water until you destroy them.

The problem was I couldn't destroy the seeds, the targetting system kept hopping between pinatas, fence posts and anything else nearby which meant usually two seeds survived each time. The area was so dense that I just couldn't do anything, I tried flooding the lot but that wasn't enough and it was too late by that time as most of the pinatas were dead already.

Or sell the seeds (which is quicker) and just take the minor money hit...

I know this 'sequel' is just more of the same, but its so addictive and the missus loves it too!

Think we're getting to the end of the game as far as getting new piñata in and adding them to the computer records. Just got a Jeli (yeti), and he's awesome!

Still lots to do, and i think this will keep us going for a couple more weeks at least.

Tell me about it... I left my missus playing it when I left for JuJitsu at around 7:30 - get back home at 10:30 and she's still sat there (having unlocked me 90 achvmt points too... ) now that's what I call a wife!
