It's the level that you Kaladron just managed to get into with me just before it froze up.

I was having a crap time with the servers yesterday but I just got off a couple of hours on the game without issue. No freezes today and I played a few community levels, which I couldn't do at all last night. It seems to be down again now, though, so I hope this all gets fixed for when people can actually buy the game.

When it works, it's brilliant fun. The story mode is surprisingly interesting, mainly because the levels are so well done, but also because you're unlocking new items and stuff all the time. I'm only so far into it - the second
level, I think - but already my library of stuff is huge. Whether I'll ever finish it 100% I don't know, but it's more compelling than I was expecting.

So far I've played three interesting community levels. I sought out that brilliant Shadow of the Colossus level (video here), which is probably the most impressive community level I've seen so far. It's possible to get stuck and have to restart the level, which could do with fixing, but as a spectacle it's amazing. I also played a very cool BioShock-themed level where you take the submarine down from the plane crash, pass a few Big Daddies and Little Sisters, and then meet Andrew Ryan, who (BioShock spoiler)

asks you to kill him by stepping on a switch with a "would you kindly..."

to finish the level. Nifty, but that was my idea for a created level

The last one I tried was one created purely to give you the trophies for reaching a certain height and hitting a certain speed. Yes, I'm ashamed.

As soon as the servers are working properly I'll help you out on that level. Not sure what the solution is but I don't remember having a problem when I played it.

Just chuck me an invite again whenever you see me online.

Got this today, are the servers down?

Loving the single player so far.

The meercat level has been the best yet.

Japanese version out today - that Piposaru costume must be hella rare, because I just picked up my pre-ordered copy and there is no code inside it. Unless the first pressings all got shipped to Tokyo or something...

There is another big disappointment - the game includes full english, meaning it has Stephen Fry's voice-over - hurray! BUT... you can't connect online unless you set the language to Japanese to accept the EULA, exactly the same as the demo. What the hell was the point in making it multilingual??

Could you say that again? It needs to be set to Japanese to accept the EULA (Licence Agreement?)? Can you not just set it to English once you've done that?

No because to change the console language settings you have to quit the game, and when you reload the game it wants to accept the EULA again... so you can only play online if you leave it on Japanese. It's incredibly stupid. I hope they are aware of this issue, I can't imagine it will affect very many people though as it was almost a simultaneous release globally.

edit - actually fingers crossed, this is just because the servers are down. It was a genuine problem in the beta so I assumed it was the same issue, but I noticed other posts saying the servers have been off recently. I'm waiting with baited breath...

                  Right. I'm with you.

It was indeed a temporary server outage - just started it up again and with the console set to english it displays the EULA in Japanese - so they fixed it

I set up a PS3 account for my girlfriend as she wants to play this co-op - we started last night. Maybe this is normal but as it was my first experience of co-op on the same system I was quite impressed... her character is completely separate (she didn't have any of the items I had collected in her popit menu, they reappeared in the levels for her to pick up) and everything is saved to a save game under her profile on the PS3. To control the pod computer or decorate her own pod she would need to log in as herself to start the game though. She made a right mess of my pod, put flowers and **** everywhere - is there any way to reset the decorations?

It's going to take me a loooong time to finish the game this way (co-op) but it's a rare opportunity so I'll make the most of it! Actually as most levels need to be replayed anyway I guess I can do it once by myself with Stephen Fry and switch it to japanese when she wants to play...

I finished story mode this afternoon. There's some really impressive, good old-fashioned platforming in the last few worlds that was fantastic fun to play, if a bit frustrating occasionally due to the slightly loose controls, but nothing that a bit of patience can't get around. I hope we get more levels downloadable from Media Molecule because as much fun as it can be to mess around with created stuff, the story mode levels are something else. The one in the last world when you're

freeing all the characters from the story

                        was just so well designed.

After that I ended up spending a few hours working on my first level, and I really didn't make much progress. There are a lot of quirks to work out in the creation tools that you have to work around, and if you're actually trying to create particular assets rather than random obstacles it takes ages. It's not helped by little annoyances like an inability to move the camera around when you're building stuff and it generally feeling a bit clumsy. I think it's trying to cram so much functionality onto a controller as much as anything.

While I'm sure part of it's me getting used to how things work, getting certain things to trigger seems a bit hit and miss sometimes. I was trying to make an enemy that would see you coming and start moving towards you and make a sound, but for the life of me I couldn't make the sound trigger. I just got fed up in the end and went to play some of the recommended ones that people had already made.

while in the pod, you can press start, and theres an option in there to reset the pod decorations.

If anyone wants to aim for 100% completion on any levels, give me a shout. I've done about as much as I can do single player now.

I'm currently working through the levels trying to Ace them all. Not easy.

I've not time to try this for a few nights, is the online stuff up and running now? Want to have a few multi-player playthroughs of levels now but not willing to put up with how crap it was before.

I've done the first three levels on this now, and found it quite good, if somewhat overhyped.

The level editor, of which I've done about a dozen tutorials, is another matter. That looks absolutely great. I can see myself sinking hours and hours into that. Like Lego, it looks like nearly all the fun will be in the creating. Great stuff.
