Once you unpause, everything is subject to gravity. I believe DarkMatter stays where you place it, everything else needs support.

So either anchor your platforms with DarkMatter, or build strutts to hold it up and glue the struts to the platform and the floor. If you don't want a full strut on the ground, you can put it in the background.

The game is 3 "fields" deep, the 2.5d, if you know what I mean. You can actually move a building block beyond that in to the background. It's thinner than the blocks in the playing area. Building here is great for support.

    Hope that makes sense.

That's actually very helpful, especially the background details. Thanks.

No problem. Use the triggers to cycle the plane of the block, go right to the back and it's really thin. Remember, this still needs to go to the ground, and glue it on so it doesn't topple. Then build off that for your playing platforms.

I am interested in playing with the dark matter a bit (not even used it yet). Try, and this is a guess, building a platform in the air out of the material you want (say wood). Then go to dark matter, and put a small square (turn on Grid, it's really useful) in the centre of it. I think the platform would then be held in place. You may need two darkmatter points to hold it, else it may spin around unless you glue them together.

Looking forward to seeing your constructions

Cheers. I'm taking it slow but I reckon I could have first level from Donkey Kong done by March.

LOL. That DK level could probably be done in an hour or less once you've got the hang of the tools. Though that may take a bit of time. 5 to 10 hours and you'll be flying I reckon.

I'm not sure I have time to do it in, but I'm thinking about a massive physics based level with lots of explosions and seeing how much the engine can push. So far I've been really impressed with the physics

It's the only game to plant the PS3 seed in my mind too. I never once considered buying a PS3 before LBP but am now very tempted. Very tempted indeed.

I've played this game every night since I picked it up on Saturday, and every time it's ****ing excellent. Always brings a smile to my face.

I've heard there may only be 25 proper levels, and 40 mini games. That would be a shame, as I must be around level 21 now and I never want it to end. The great news it won't

Getting 100% will take a while. As well as the usual 2 player sections, I've found one needing 4 players which could be interesting.

Collecting costumes is addictive. I'm currently wearing the

ninja mask with some mirrored sunglasses The mask has long ties flapping behind it, looks great and helps you keep track of your guy in multiplayer.

. I've collected a good hundred plus decorations that you can actually stick on your sackboy, which is fun - and sticking them on another player, which is even more amusing.

Had a good bash at making that Donkey Kong level tonight. Didn't quite have the right items to do it but I got the basic structure in place and plonked a monkey at the top to represent DK. I don't have any flaming barrels but I got a cannon to fire golf balls down the ramps and put two tea cups at the foot of the stage in place of the oil drums.

Making working ladders will be a bit trickier and I still don't know how to set a goal point to make the level end when you reach it.

This is going to be a slow process.

The game doesn't have ladders as such. You'll have to improvise something. Maybe a 2 plane continuous platform, one going up, one going down, so the player can jump between planes to alter direction. Set the platforms to reset at their starting point rather than reach the top and reverse.

Or have a hanging grabble that triggers when grabbed, taking you up, release and it lowers back down.

I want to do a map but I'm worried about the time needed myself.

I like the look of this stage...looks quite tricky in a few places.

Too bad you'll never get to play it.

You can only play levels in your own region . Its rumoured that the best from every other region will show up in a top 10 list or something like that..

Which i think is kind of sucky.
