I don't think any of you guys played mine last night. I'll have you know my little sackboy is hanging his head and crying.
Actually, honeymustard did (cheers mate!) but I can tell from his score that he didn't beat the time limit. I'd love some feedback - it's only a short blast but I'm not sure if it's the kind of thing other people want to play.
Which do you think is better after making a level: putting a score on the board as the creator or leaving it entirely up to other people to play? I put a score up on mine, but I (think I) know the fastest routes and where the secret bubbles are... and so far nobody has got close to my score. I thought it might be discouraging...? I didn't do a perfect run though, there should still be room to improve.
That said, my level has had 17 players and only 4 people (including myself) have set a score, so something must be frustrating people to the point that they drop out early.Last edited by Darwock; 11-11-2008, 02:01.

I imagine a problem all map makers will make is simply that if you're map is challenging, and may take more than 1 attempt to pass it, most players won't bother and move to another map. This much choice will ultimately lead to some great maps getting no more than a cursory look.
I've tried to counter this, as best as I could, by adding a few hard-to-get point bubbles. There are some places where it's real risk / reward, and with the multiplier in the game, it can really boost your score if you're brave enough. For example, on the bit with the rotating platforms, there are two platforms you can stand on that release about 20 bubbles from above. These two platforms are marked with Sackboy stickers, so hopefully quite clear. But the platforms rotate after a few seconds, and even then you have to get over the rest of them.
I've got a couple of hidden bubbles as well, and two races - the last one is pretty straight forward (so long as the mine cart makes it!), but the first is over the volcano itself, so if you can do it in one life, the point reward will be very high. I gave this one a 180 second time limit, and the mine cart 120 second.
I was aiming for a map where people replay it looking for their best score, but I think unless you map makes the first page of the general map list, you don't stand much of a chance of getting it played.
I'm hoping it will get to 50 Hearts, so please guys, get playing!!
