Mine arrived today from The Hut. Aside from disappointment at a software update needing applied right out of the box and the movement in/out of screen being just a tiny bit hit or miss (for my liking, anyway), I am loving this. Stephen Fry? Awesome! Take Hart music? Awesome! Presentation, the feel and vibe of the whole thing? Awesome! I have not unlocked the create or online stuff yet (only had about 90 mins playtime available and software update sucked up a bit of that, grrr). The graphical style is worthy of special mention, the different 'material' represented is beautifully done.

This really deserves to be a huge success.

Does anyone know if it's possible to use a PS2 controller (through USB (I know it works as I can control the XMB with it)) for 2 players?

maybe, some games do indeed support a ps2 pad for ps3 gaming, virtua tennis 3 is one.

thing is you wont have the sixaxis functions it usess, can give it a try though.

Regarding the sixaxis functions, I wish there was a calibration option. I naturally sit with my controller angled upwards at about 30 degrees, which means my little sackperson is always staring at the ceiling.

Weird - I checked the Jpn store today and the piposaru is there for anyone to download! That's pretty odd as it was supposed to be extremely limited, the website said you needed a download code etc. Very happy though as now I have it - the boggle eyes work fantastically well when combined with an oversized pair of comedy glasses

Had a go last night and loved it, ended up playing it instead of Gears2 - does that make me a total pussy? My Sackboy is dressed up as an Elizabethan pink bunny rabbit...

                  Seconded, that needs sorting.

Right, I've fiiiinally got to play this!

After another update that took nearly an hour just to let me get friend requests I finally got on. At least this gave me time to charge my headset and 2nd pad.
If people buy a PS3 and LBP but have no internet, will they be able to play it?!

So, I really wanted to get my wife playing this too as she's not a gamer. I got the game on and Stephen Fry started narrating, which immediately got her attention (we love QI) and she asked "what's this?". So I handed her the pad and turned on the second one so we had two sackboys.

We then set about jumping across the opening title together, learning the various rules and conventions of the game.

It was great to play with a non-gamer because I got to see a lot of things I now take for granted. Knowing when to jump in relation to motion, how much run-up is needed, how to navigate menus, areas to explore and so on.

The difficulty does ramp up quite fast and with the screen zoomed out to accompany 2 sackboys it can be a little tricky to spot the details like points bubbles. So within a few levels we were getting to tricky bits that had to be replayed. Quite often I'd have to go ahead to reach a new spawn point.

We both found moving to the foreground and background a little tricksy too. Quite often you'd move infront of something you're trying to push or run up the wrong ramp after moving back to get a run up.

My First Play would have been completely different if I'd been on my own but playing with a non-gamer really opened my eyes to how confusing these things can be!

So overall, we both had great fun and I got my wife and I gaming together, but I was frustrated with some of the game mechanics, the ridiculous amount of updates and not being able to play with friends because the servers were still down.

I just hope she's not lost interest after just one day!

Almost finished the Story now. It just gets better and better. I hit a huge difficulty spike about 75% through but that might just be me. Can't wait to start creating now!

I'm 100% sure this item is a test, so I'm not touching it with a barge pole.

Does anyone else who has their PS3 plugged in to an AV amp via optical find that Stephen Fry's narration does not (as you'd expect) come out of the center channel? I thought at first that the narration was just low down the sound mix, since I was straining slightly to hear him clearly, but when I eventually heard some sfx actually come from the center speaker, I twigged that his voice was only coming from the front left/front right channel. Admittedly, I'm plugged into an older A/V amp (Yamaha DSP-A5) which is 'only' 5.1 AC3 and DTS, but the audio channels have been OK on other games. My amp is definately receiving the optical feed from PS3 correctly, as it is displaying "Dolby Digital" on the front panel.

Not a big deal, just curious.

Am ashamed to say i bought the 1week tee, bought the motorstorm one as well...

Good games to everyone i played with last night, sorry if i dunno what i'm doing half the time (i really don't know what's going on LOL). The lag throwing u inside objects is crazy, ended up stuck in the floor and a car in one game and a few other games not being able to control myself properly.

Spent a while playing the Little Big Ninja stage online yesterday, really well designed stage.

Yeah, it's not coming out of the centre speaker on my Sony 5.1 kit.
