is the game optimised for 1080p ? does 720p still look nice ? what is the soundtrack is it still electronica based stuff or a mixture of different styles ?

would this be the game to showcase what the ps3 can really do until gt5 ?

think i'm going to have to walk into game and buy a ps3 later today.

I kind of wish they'd kept the untoned-down Zone mode as an option, purely because it could've been utterly mesmerising. It still looks great, mind, and nothing is more panic-inducing than approaching the requisite zone for a gold medal with the critical damage alarm going off.

I don't like the wait for the depth-of-field and camera blur effects in the Photo Mode either, or the fact that the music stops, making it deadly silent whilst tinkering with it.

But other than that I can't think of anything I don't love: it's fantastic. Absolute, utter class. If Sony stuck a 30 second advert consisting of nothing but direct-feed Zone footage on the telly they'd shift a few more PS3s I'm sure.

Having an absolute blast, although it has made me realise how crap I am at this sort of game. I haven't touched a Wipeout game for years so it took a while to get my bearings, but after that I loved it...although that is thanks to the pilot assist...

I love the sonic boom when you break the sound barrier-so much detail it's awesome!

After an absolutely torturously slow download I eventually got a couple of races in before hitting the sack last night. Not much else I can say that hasn't already been said. My only gripe might be is that I've raced on these tracks so many times already, I would have liked to have seen a few new tracks, but I guess they are saving those for DLC.

I'm absolutely loving it. haven't played any WipeOut games since the amazing 2097 on the PSX... so everything is new again, but it all feels very familiar !

looks amazing, sounds great and plays just like it should !

all modes are amazing, but zone really is an excellent idea, loving it !

Also made a online thread for this game because after beating the single player that is where all the fun is gonna be for a long time !

Have to agree with everyone else, this version is stunning, mesmerizing and addictive! And that's on 32" CRT!!

I've only played 2 previous versions, the first one when I got the PS at launch and Wipeout64 so totally loving this.

If anyone fancies adding me to their friends list I may be online over the weekend, if the wee one gives me any peace!

Loving the soundtrack too, DJ Fresh - X Project (remix) and Noisia - Seven Stitches. Two of my fave artists are in the game Love it.

The other tunes are electrolicious also.

Is it the same soundtrack as Pulse? I remember that being the initial plan but it could well have changed since that was talked about.

I could've sworn that one of the features of the XMB was a friend invite option? Guess i've gotten to used to the Live service on the Xbox and taken those features for granted.

                        Cheers for the info, man.

I think all the tracks here are from the Pulse soundtrack but there are a few missing iirc.

Yes there is - you start pressing accelarate just as the countdown reaches "Go" and you set-off. I can do it pretty much every time.
