Is that the 4th or 5th set of races? I had trouble with Sol 2 on the 4th set. I ended up having to use my boost to bridge that valley near the start and barrel roll there (it's after the initial right, then you go up with a smooth left, then there's the valley bit). It was just before the corner so actually bought me very little but with getting the boost pads in the rest of it, it was enough to get the gold. Only just though. I used Assegai.

There is one place that has a bit of a dip later on that I felt I should be able to get a barrel roll at but I never actually managed to pull it off.

Yeah you can try it at the second valley section but on Rapier it's alot harder to pull it of and get the barrel roll without smacking into one of the walls.

Really really tricky course.

Oh, yeah, it was that Speed Freak set I was talking about. I was further along than I thought. I've two time trials in the next set giving me problems - Sebenco Climb and Metropia. I thought I had figured out good routes for Sebenco twice and they both left me short.

Oddly, in the set after Speed Freak and the Rapier Sol 2 TT, there is a Venom Sol 2 Time Trial that is ridiculously easy.

I've got golds on the fifth set with the exception of the time trials on Ubermall and Sol 2 (Top left and top right) which at the moment I'm stuck with bronze. Really struggling on Sol 2. Ubermall I know exactly what I need to be doing but just haven't been able to do it for three consistent laps yet.

I had that problem with an Anulpha Pass time trial - I knew exactly what I was doing and that it would take me right to a gold but doing it four laps in a row without messing up was hell.

I did get the Sol 2 Time Trial gold. Went back to it after a few hours break and pretty much nailed the course on my first few attempts. Sol 2 is deceptively tricky. A lot of the bends require more sustained (and precise) use of the airbrakes than earlier tracks.

The right hand turn after the first 'valley' section is especially tough. It starts out shallow then sharpens up halfway through. Plus you really need to hit the solitary boost pad on the exit hich is in the middle of the track. Once I got that down gold came (but it was still tight).

Got 5 golds so far on Campaign 7 but had to stop on the Sebonco Climb Time Trial. Got silver and can see points to improve but was getting too tired and had to leave it.

Not been this dedicated to a racing game for a long time. It reminds me of my days playing Initial D: Special Stage, obsessively refining the lines I take on courses shaving milliseconds off at each attempt.

THe required time is 1:38.5 and I can get 1:39.8 I think so far. I just can't manage to put 4 perfect laps together on that track. It is so difficult, really need to be so cute with the airbrakes and the corner you talked about C' is the one that loses me momentum most laps. I just can't find the right line to get the speed pad every time without hitting the wall.

Haven't struggled with anything else so far too!

What craft are you using? I had to switch from my Goteki to Assegai to get enough turning power.

1.38.31. Eventually! And that had a really poor second lap in it, where I lost at least a second. Almost quit it but decided to power through the rest for practice and creamed it!

I found the Sol 2 practice came in handy for getting gold on Sol 2 Zone in campaign 7.

Is that the far right race in the grid? if so thats the one I'm struggling to get a gold on as well, nearly there with Icarus but not quite.

I love Sol 2 so can't wait to do the Zone mode on it
