You get a Rock Band 1 disc, load it up and go to to the options menu and select the export option. You have to pay 500 MS points and then all bar 4 of the RB1 songs will save themselves from the disc to your hard drive.

When you insert the RB2 disc, the songs magically appear. They are even noted specifically as being RB1 songs (DLC is noted differently too).

It uses up a fair whack of HD space, but it works great.

Ok, so you connect 4 instruments, and 4 players sign into the 360, and you start the game. Is there an easy way to reassign instruments? So player one can move from say a guitar to the drums, without lots of messing around?

We just hand over the instruments. If you want to swap profiles it's a bit of a pain.

The quickest way (which might be what you are doing) is to go back to the RB main menu, click the guide on each controller in turn and press X to sign out. Then press the guide again to sign in the the correct profile on each controller.

I wish there was an in-built easy way to swap profiles. Say I select the 'swap profile' option in the guide, then the next player to press their guide button, the profiles swap between our two controllers without the game going into a fit that the profiles have logged out.

The smart thing would be to link the Live account to the character, but it actually links the Live account to the controller doesn't it? So no easy way to switch em.

PS3 owners currently can't do this at all, although I'm wondering if HMX will add it now the firmware has been updated to support multiple PSN accounts.

I can only echo what everone else says. It's a pain in the arse so just swap the instruments around.

I recently bought a new Xbox 360 with a new 60 GB Hard Drive and I have discovered that I no longer have my RB1 songs to play.

Is there a way to download the pack without the disc? I didn't think i'd need it again so I got shot of it.

You need the disc to copy the tracks to your harddrive. What happened to your old drive, you should beable to copy from that with the transfer cable?

Has anybody else had problems with the PS3 guitars randomly disconnecting and then not being able to reconnect again?

It happened to me 4 times last night in the middle of setlists and I tried everything I could think of by it just wouldn't reconnect.

Bizarre and more than a little annoying!!

I used to have that problem, but it mysteriously stopped happening, not sure what I changed. These days tapping the PS button resyncs almost immediately for me, if the wireless connection times out and drops. I haven't had a random disconnect for a long time now.

The small white button, where the cable is on the wired 360 guitars, forces a resync I think - worth trying that. Maybe it is just that your batteries are on their way out? Or maybe there are just a lot of wireless devices competing for bandwidth.

It has only happened once that I remember and all we needed to do was press the reset or PS button on the guitar and we were back in the room!
Might be obvious but have you checked the batteries? I know I had my original batteries in mine so not sure how long they last?

Did anybody get the Pearl Jam 'Ten' DLC, I must admit to trying to play that album on a real guitar and failing hard. How does it fair for guitar (or are you all drummers here)?

Also do you get the band as characters, videos or is it just the music?

You never get additional characters (that's Guitar Hero), just music.

Jeremy is quite easy on guitar, but not tried drums.
