Absolutly stunning mate and i'm not talking about the oldies either. The acual score itself, well i was rather blewn away when i first heard it tbh.

I only just started to play it and just got out of the vault. Don't read below until you have left the vault.

I killed the overseer, he was an arse and i desired retribution. Anyways is it possible to leave him live, the girl got pissed after i killed him.

To answer your question in the spoiler, yes it is.

The first time round I opened the door and killed him but I was interested in seeing if I could let him live and still escape. I booted up an auto save and sneaked past the door instead, went into his hacked the computer to open the tunnel and escaped.

          I didn't

kill the Overseer. I just threatened him and left, killing his guard.

It'll be interesting to see if there are any repercussions for that later on.

I only got home a couple of hours ago so I just played up to when you go outside, and I loved this game's equivalent of that moment in Oblivion when you first stepped out of the castle and saw the landscape in front of you. I wonder if it was a deliberate homage for the Oblivion fans; a scene that plays out similarly but couldn't be more different in terms of what you're actually looking out on.

Like I said, I only played as far as Megaton, but already I can tell that they've captured the feeling of Fallout. I was walking around that first ruined town you go through with the 50s music going and it's already so atmospheric. I played Fallout 2 recently to get myself in the mood and this really feels like that game in 3D. Maybe not in terms of humour yet, beyond the irony dripping from it, but I'm sure that'll be coming.

So tempted to buy this but I've yet to finish Dead Space and Fable 2, plus I haven't even started Far Cry 2 yet.

Picked up both the 360 and PS3 versions from work to see which one I`m gonna buy.
Played through the first level, and just a few observations -
              360 version
Pretty quick loading time, intro video has a little bit of tearing, and the gfx seem a little blurred in game.

              PS3 Version
Longer loading time - doesnt have an instal screen but does put 939mbs into the game data folder, video intro is a lot cleaner with no tearing, also sound is a lot louder as well as the surround effects clearer. No blur at all.

360 version states upto 1080p and downloadable content.
PS3 version goes upto 720p and no mention of downloadable content.
Tested both consoles via hdmi on a 32" lcd @ 720p.

Thinking I`m gonna stick with the PS3 version.

That LE lunchbox is class - if I had kids they would so be taking their lunch to school in that!

Screw the kids! Use it yourself Geek Cred +5()

This game is fantastic, it's like a sponge. I've done barely anything, but I look at my save... 6 hours. Wha?!?

                  Mind = blown.

So awesome and I'm only just getting out of The Vault. The scale of it's huge -not just the game world itself but the depth of the system on offer.

It's been a long time since I played Oblivion so I'd forgotten what it was like getting into a Bethesda RPG.

I'm still slightly overwhelmed at the minute, been playing for hours but don't really know what I should do.

Just got off from playing it for hour and bit, very epic indeed.
Did notice the tearing on the intro at the beginning, I have not seen it since the intro (360 version).
Just got to megaton so think this game is gonna take some time

When you get out of the Vault its very cool, eyes adjusting to the light and everything comes into focus, wind blowing around you, very cool

So far I have been making good choices, not being too rude and trying to help where I can, will play through like this if I can.

There's an impressive amount of beards to choose from.

How does the leveling system work? Is it the same as in Oblivion? It was something like increase skills in three attribute areas and then you can sleep and assign points in that area?
Do the wandering beasts level with you like in Obliv? As in you start off finding rats in the forsted then soon wolves etc etc, or is it more like a traditional rpg where there are some areas that just have tough foes?

(just re read this, apologies for all the question marks!)
