Says here you can just buy him, which is what I did. You might need a higher barter or speech skill perhaps. You can also perform a hit for the barman and he'll give you the contract but it involves karma loss and can be practically difficult since the other ghouls will become hostile if they see you do the deed.

It's 2000 caps but I think you might be able to speech challenge him to get it lower. He does kill his former employer but that doesn't affect your karma either.

Been playing this over the last week or so. Easily one of the most immersive games I?ve played through in a long while. I never got into Oblivion despite many impressions encouraging me to give it a second try so a lot of the experience this offers is totally new in terms of flexibility and scale of the world.
The game is so successful I feel because of the way each time you play you get new stories to tell that have developed organically through your actions rather than through pre-scripted events.
However it does seem that this freedom comes at a cost for obsessive completionists like myself.
I travelled to Rivet City for Moira?s survival guide quest prior to travelling to GNR Building for the Following In His Footsteps quest. However at Rivet City I spoke to Dr. Li about my father and she revealed details on where I could find him which classed Following In His Footsteps as complete but I never got the achievement for it (presumably as I didn?t complete all tasks in the quest to get the information I did).

I had originally placed the pulse charge on the bomb inside of Megaton for Mr Burke, but since decided that the town would be worth sparing. Sadly once the charge is placed it can't be removed, so the only way then to clear the quest is to detonate
On a similar note, I'm finding the distinct lack of proper towns rather than simple trading camps to be rather disheartening - there are few houses for me to raid and steal from and the few npcs I've come across so far all seem to have psychic abilities, being able to detect me in sneak mode while asleep
At least there are no psychic guards like in Oblivion "How many Imperial woodsmen guards out in the arse end of nowhere does it take to alert entire cities that you're a murderer? Just the one, and I've already killed him"

I found the residents of Megatron just as psychic as those pesky guards in Oblivion. As quiet as a mouse I killed that Irish dude who owns the saloon whilst he slept (which, given how everybody hated him, was doing everyone a favour) but on walking out his front door found half the town taking shots at me. Theer's just no way anyone knew I killed him. It's silly.

I found a great way of saving ammo the other day, and thats to use melee weapons! It works a treat!
Oh and cheated a bit last night and followed someones advice in securing my own place in Megaton. Now i can dump a load of stuff i don't use but can't bring myself to get shut of in the lockers! Yay!
My current fave thing to do is to pick up loads of armour and stuff and sell it on to Moira, so now im not broke or low on ammo like i was when i first started! its great!
Is it me or can you get an unlimited amount of Karma points by giving water to the guy who is begging for it outside Megaton? Ive given him 4 bottles now, and as its free from your house, its a win win!
