I'm currently running through Operation Anchorage. Hoping I don't get more than a level in there otherwise it'll screw up my good/neutral/bad karma cheating for the trophies!
I've been through Broken Steel and The Pitt so far. I'm really quite disappointed in the quests for the DLC up until this point, they completely ignore the most fun parts of the game for me and focus almost completely on combat.

If it's level 20, then I can't help.

That's a damn good idea actually. I saved before I entered the 'instance' anyway, but if I can save again as I'm about to level and take that perk in each case that'll be awesome. Then I can reload again and take one I actually want (Although they all feel like filler to me right now!).
I've read bits and pieces about Point Lookout and I'm expecting to like it yeah. The Pitt had an interesting moral choice in it, but it was right at the end and the whole premise itself basically served to frame yet more combat.
On the positive side, I'm so ****ing uber at the moment the combat really doesn't get in the way of anything!

Well **** me you're not wrong about Mothership Zeta. I love the idea, the designs and everything... but it's basically a shooter, and a pretty awful one at that. They have magnificently achieved a showcase of everything that's wrong with the VATS system in this game (VATS as a concept, and in earlier Fallout games, is awesome).
Took me a good few waves in the hangar before I realised that the aliens don't have the means to open one of their own doors.
Thanks for the heads up on the levelling perk by the way, worked like a charm.

I got Broken Steel which I thought was ok but a little irritating especially towards the end. Mothership Zeta was a pretty big dissapointment for me and I managed to do it all in one sitting. Not sure if I am willing to buy anymore really unless any of the other ones are a big improvement, any suggestions ?

I think The Pitt is better than both Broken Steel and Zeta (So far), but I'm still not sure I could recommend it - it's very combat heavy (With very uninteresting enemies for that matter as well). There are few memorable characters and only really one genuinely interesting point in the main quest (A moral choice that you really do have to think about). There's a trophy/achievement for finding all of a specific item (100 of them) but with an ineffective mapping system, zero means of tracking the item and the fact that they don't stand out that well... I'm not sure I'd recommend going for it unless you're desperate for the trophy/points (I seem to be getting OCD, once I get past a certain percentage on a game!).
Point Lookout is supposed to be much better (Its' non quest related trophy is for exploration, which bodes well), but I'm saving that until last like I usually do with the best things.Last edited by Number45; 08-01-2010, 08:18.

You playing it on PS3 Number45?
I've only played Broken Steel and Point Lookout but I think out of the two Point Lookout was better. The quests and setting feels quite different to the main game.
The one thing I will say though is I was having some fairly major stability issues as the game went on (even moreso than the main game) - random crashes ahoy!

Yeah I'm on PS3. You're spot on about stability as well, I played 35 hours on the original release and then about 60 hours on GOTY before starting with the DLC content. Since I've been playing the DLC I've noticed a MASSIVE increase in the amount of crashes and bugs.
So much so that I've been reading some of the bug information on the Wiki. Zeta crashed when I entered the ship (Several times, needed to clear the game data to fix it... all 10GB of it!) and apparently there's a bug that stops you from leaving the ship at all! I have a save parked just outside the crash site for just in case this happens to me.
I know Bethesda games are vast and must be a nightmare to test, but I don't think they get enough bad press for some of the **** that happens in their otherwise amazing games.

All finished 100%. I can't praise the vanilla content enough, but I really don't think the DLC adds very much of merit at all. If I were to have my time over again I'd have stuck to only the original edition content (Making sure not to complete the game before I felt I was done, for obvious reasons).
I love the original game, but with pretty much each new piece of DLC Bethesda have missed the mark horribly as far as I'm concerned. Broken Steel is kind of a necessity (Unless you take my advice above), and Point Lookout is by far the best of the bunch (Set in a horrible locale, which balances that out).
So, to recap:
Fallout 3 = 9/10 (Awesome)
Broken Steel / The Pitt / Operation Anchorage / Mothership Zeta = 5/10 each (I'm being generous)
Point Lookout = 7/10
Taking the DLC as a whole though, I'd give them a combined 1/50 due to technical ****-uppery.
At least I have 100% on the trophies, so it's not all bad.
