Anybody care to take a guess at the size of the DLC judging from past experience with Oblivion? I only have the small hard drive that is mostly filled with the game itself so it doesn't run from disk, I'm wondering if the DLC will fit on too...

Indeed. I bet you entered the Rotunda before you started the mission and listened to the logs in there. That's what glitches it. Done it twice now. Still, I'll get it on my 3rd play through when I go through it as a neutral.

I did the Nuka Cola Factory last night, bloody hell those minelurks with the heavy armour are a bast to kill! Really dont help when yah got them ramming you and cockroachs biting you at the same time!

But i did the quest, however, it only gave me like 5 quantum bottles............ meh, hardly seemed worth it in the end.

So as i was about to switch off the machine for the night, i jus went on a rampage (which i won't save obviously) and killed Sierra, which was actually very satisfying watching her head gettin blown off by my shot gun at point blank range. then i went next door to speak to Grady and he was none the wiser till i tried to lie to him. So i ended blowing his head off lol............ such fun!

then i switched off and went to bed with a satisfied mind Man this game is such a time eater!

Build a railway rifle, perfect for crippling them.

I actually fought my first death claw outside the nuka cola factory, it was attacking a wastlander and i helped her out, she thanked me and gave me a map with loactions etc......... But i have no idea what to do with the claw the death claw beast left behind.

Was gonna sell it but figured someone might want it for a good price I jus used the assault Rifle and aimed at the head. Tell you what though the more i explore the harder the beasties get!

Does anyone know what the cherry bombs and dog tags are good for? Or will i find out sooner or later in the game?

Have you not found a schematic yet? You can use things like cherry bombs, lunch boxes, crutches and lots of other random loot to build weapons and bombs.

The dog tags you will be able to hand in for money later in the game.

Yeah ive found the schematics Cieran, but i think i got annoyed cos i couldn't find a few 'ingredients' and i kept overloading and then i get side tracked etc.......... Loads of excuses.........

Im a bit of a hoarder, and hate running low one anything............ jus incase. Paranoia in games eh?

Better yet, make a poison dart gun. You can cripple a leg with one shot and then pick them off at your leisure as they hobble around.

Same here, ended up just piling everything into my house. Turns out I barely needed any of them and have a house full of crap now.

Cherry Bombs are a key ingredient for Bottlecap Mines which are awesome.

I think the full schematics are:
                        1 Lunch Box
                        1 Sensor module
                        1 Cherry Bomb
                        10 Bottlecaps

So everytime I find any of the above I make sure I stash them away and knock one together at the next Work Bench I find.

I wouldn't worry about overloading on Cherry Bombs though. I think they have 0WG.

Same here. It occurred to me that I'd be well and truly ****ed if I had decided to

                          blow up Megaton

                          .

This is probably the biggest flaw in this game IMO. Considering it's supposed to be an irradiated wasteland I had no difficulty in surviving or meeting basic needs.

I was half expecting something like Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, where the world is unspeakably hostile and you can literally starve to death for want of a tin of beans. In fact I found I was spending more time looting and piddling round with my inventory to make it all fit, than I was playing the game and having some fun. In the end I just stopped going into metro tunnels and buildings unless I had a specific reason, or I was never going to finish the damned thing.

I wouldn't say it marred an otherwise epic, awesome game, but it's certainly true that a sterner challenge would have improved it, especially in the later levels.

I reckon I'm the opposite. I love exploring and whuppin things. To spend ages on tenderhooks looking for a tin of farts to eat like some kind of piss-stained tramp would be an unwelcome distraction from the things I find more fun.

I haven't played this for weeks or month but finished uni yesterday and have a week off so gonna get back into this I reckon.

I also spent ages collecting items I thought were useful but seems I just chucked most of it away in the end. I thought there was a way to make things or something with all the crap you found? Can't be bothered searching through the thread so anyone wanna give me a quick run down of it if I'm correct?

Gonna put this on now anyway!

Don't get alot of gaming recently so want to really enjoy this and do the best things in it. What were peoples most enjoyable things to do in the game?
